Chapter 22 - Dadisa

"Who are you to order my grandson", a voice boomed in the chamber.

All three of them turned to look at the person. Saudamini was not able to recognize the old lady standing at the entrance with a walking stick to support her. But the smile on Yuvraj's face and shock on Ranisa's face showed that they have recognized her. Yuvraj immediately went to her and touched her feet.

The old woman blessed him by touching his head and looked at Ranisa while walking towards her with the help of yuvraj holding her hands. "Did you forget your manners after living so long as a Queen?", The old woman asked Ranisa, who immediately touched her feet as well seeking blessings.

The old lady took a seat while others were standing. She pulled Yuvraj to sit beside her smilingly and asked, "How are you Pratap?". Pratap replied, "I'm good Dadisa. How are you doing? After taking sanyas, you never for once came to check on us. But we didn't forget you that's why we always kept a tab on you as you were serving in the kashi temple".

Dadisa replied, "How can I ever forget you? All my years of prayers are only for you". Pratap smiled at her but frowned listening her further words. Dadisa said, "But now onwards my prayers will be for someone else". Pratap asked impatiently, "who? ". To which she replied, "Who else? My great grandchild". Pratap smiled at that and mentally slapped himself for feeling jealous of his own child.

"Correction Dadisa. It's great grandchildren", Pratap told her which doubled her happiness. "It's all the blessings of my Mahadev", saying so Dadisa said a silent prayer conveying her thanks. "Let's go. I want to see my grand daughter-in-law immediatelyl,  Dadisa urged Pratap to take her to Anamika. And they both left immediately without bothering the other two people standing there.

Saudamini looked at Ranisa and said, "Ranisa! please take a seat". Ranisa came out of her thoughts and sat down. Then she looked at Saudamini apologetically as well as embarrassed and said that they will plan something else. Saudamini nodded at her words and left from there.

While walking towards Anamika's chamber Dadisa asked Pratap, "So tell me about your wife". She went to kashi when Pratap was seven years old so she neither saw Anamika nor did she know about her. Pratap smiled and said, "You have taught me while teaching the Bhagavat Gita, that a husband and wife are equal parts of the life which they share. And they will complete each other while compensating each other's imperfection with their own perfections. All I could say about Anamika is, She proved whatever you had taught me. Without her, I'm imperfect. But I cannot say the same about her though". He chuckled at last.

Dadisa smiled at his words as the image of Anamika in her mind is increasing every second. Finally they reached her chamber and entered inside to see Anamika sitting on the couch. She looked at Pratap and an old lady beside him and immediately recognized her. She tried to get up which was impossible without help and kamala tried to help her when Dadisa asked her to keep sitting. Pratap helped Dadisa sit near her and asked some other maid to bring a chair for him to sit.

"Why are you still here? We women have many things to talk about. So show yourself out and let us talk in peace and privacy", Dadisa ordered Pratap who simply blinked at her order. "Dadisa, I'm your favorite and one and only grandson. You are asking me to go out?", Pratap couldn't accept what he heard from his Dadisa. When she simply nodded, he couldn't do anything but sigh and go out of the chamber. Maids had already gone out getting signal from Anamika.

Once he was out, Dadisa turned to Anamika to take a proper look and said, "You do look good. Pratap and you look good together. And from the scroll I received from you, I can conclude that you are wise enough to be the future queen as well. Foreseeing others move?". Anamika doesn't know how to reply for all her complements, so just said, "I may not be that wise to tackle my enemies efficiently, otherwise I could have given the heir for our kingdom four years ago". Anamika told Dadisa about her probable suspicion of someone avoiding her pregnancy and Ranisa's intention to bring a second wife for yuvraj.

When Anamika came to know about the swing issue between yuvraj and Saudamini, she knew that Ranisa will not sit quiet and start her moves quickly. That's why she wanted someone to keep Ranisa in place until she gives birth and exposes Meenavathi. After that Ranisa cannot execute her plans and also now Anamika can simply focus on Meenavathi rather than stressing herself with many things. That's when she remembered about Rajmata(Queen mother or Mother of the king) about whom Yuvraj had talked about many times.

As a royal, even after taking sanyas she will still be connected with the palace and it would be solely her decision whether she wants to come to the palace for a few days visit or not. Fortunately for Anamika, she accepted her request to visit the palace and stay till the birth of her children and also to help her tackle the enemies hiding behind the facade of friends. Since Anamika doesn't want to share details of her rebirth and known as a freak, she simply told the happenings as her suspicion starting from her impending pregnancy to the recent supposed attack.

"Bahuranisa! Now that I'm here, you don't need to worry about your mother-in-law. I know that you will have Pratap beside you while tackling outside enemies but when it is his mother, you need someone else beside you. Not because Pratap will not understand but because he wouldn't want to hurt either of you. And I'm here with you", Dadisa said to Anamika.

Anamika was glad to have such a support for her against Ranisa. Dadisa kept the serious talk aside and asked about her health and started talking to the babies inside Anamika's womb who kicked in reply. They talked and laughed for sometime. Dadisa slowly stood up to leave and bid her bye, "Bahuranisa, I will go to my chamber now. When I came here, I went to meet Pratap directly after knowing that he is present in his mother's chamber". Anamika nodded at her while sitting as Dadisa asked her to not stand.

When Dadisa came out, she saw Yuvraj standing outside Anamika's chamber leaning on the wall and she asked, "From when are you standing here?". Pratap looked at her in relief and said with a scowl, "From when you kicked me out of the chamber". Dadisa looked at him in disbelief and started to walk away when pratap tried to help her, Ranasa came there and helped his mother after greeting her. Pratap went back to Anamika and Ranasa had an emotional reunion with his mother in her chamber. The day ended without much of a tragedy.

Hi guys,

Sorry for not updating yesterday. I was upset because I saw an Indian historical show in YouTube which came to the point of second marriage. And the reason was even more ridiculous that the first wife was not able to balance personal life and administrative works.

Anyways I was so angry yesterday and was thinking about it continuously. Now I'm good and that's why the update.
