G O O D B Y E

Mando tried to hurry. He didn't trust Toro, let alone Fennec. But with the heat and the pace on the Dewback, it could only be a matter of hours. Many had already asked the Mandalorian how he could do anything at all in that heavy armour.

It was hard without question, but when you wore that armour every day with pride and learned to handle it, it just belonged to you. It was a part of Mando.

When the warrior finally saw the place he had left after his long journey, the adrenaline pumped back into his blood. He hopped off the dewback and ran the last few metres towards the two unconscious bodies he could see despite the darkness. The first body was rimmed with dark blood, and on closer inspection Mando realised it was none other than Fennec. But as his eyes continued to scan around, his gaze finally fell on the second figure lying unconscious in the sand.

Mando slapped his forehead inwardly and cursed Roya's fucking brother. How could he hurt his family and then leave her to die? Fuck.

Mando knelt down beside her and carefully looked at the blood on her temple, which had dried long ago. He gently checked her pulse by putting his fingers to her neck. She was alive.
"Roya," he said through his modulated voice as he shook her by the shoulder. Mando had to be quick and go back. Who knows what Toro was up to, now that he knew the child was there with Peli. The child.

Mando bit his lip and was about to take Roya with him, hoping she would wake up on the way, when suddenly she stirred. Her eyes opened slowly and as if immediately aware of what had happened earlier, she tore them open and sat up as quickly as she could.

"Easy," Mando said and stood up to offer her a hand, which she accepted with a throbbing headache. Once she was standing, she squinted her eyes and trembling grabbed the blood-covered spot on her forehead. A sarcastic laugh escaped her. "I can't believe he did that."

"Are you okay?" Mando asked as he walked to the dewback without checking on Fennec again. He didn't care if she was dead or alive; Unlike Roya. It was like that time with the child. He could never have left her behind with a clear conscience, even if she belonged to Toro. But as could be clearly seen, the siblings couldn't be more different.

"Gotta be," Roya replied and sat down on the dewback behind Mando without him having to say anything else. It was impressive how she got on there without help despite her injuries.

On the way back, Roya couldn't think straight, her anger clouding her mind. How could Toro do this to her? Beat her unconscious and then just leave her like an insignificant human being. After all Roya had been through, she had to watch her own family turn against her again. It may be that Roya and Toro weren't always on the best of terms, but she thought he loved her. Respected her.
But she was sorely mistaken.

Her heart ached terribly and she could think of nothing else but all the pain that had been added to her in the last few hours.
I

t was a nightmare she wanted to wake up from as soon as possible.

Mando and Roya ran into the building together, to Peli's place. Where Mando's ship was; specifically the child.

The man walked in front of Roya and already had his hand ready on his blaster, which the brunette looked at with an uneasy feeling, even though she knew exactly what was going to happen.
