Chapter Five

*Jaxon POV*

Two mates.

I have two mates?

And one is another alpha male?

When I pulled into the driveway, I shut the car off and we sat there for a few minutes before I finally broke the silence.

"What do you wanna do?" I asked, trying not to let the fear show in my voice.

She's gonna reject me. She's gonna see that I'm not good enough for her and she's gonna leave me for him. He's taller, more built. I'm gonna lose her.

"What can we do?" She asked back, turning her attention to me.

"Who are you gonna choose?" I asked, my voice wavering at the end.

She unbuckled and climbed into my lap, cupping my face in her hands.

"Jaxon, I will never ever reject you. You are and will always be my mate. He may also be my mate but no matter what I will always choose you." She said, her eyes showing nothing but love and honesty.

Without saying another word, I gripped her waist and smashed my lips onto hers.

The kiss was hungry but also soft and passionate. This is what we have both been waiting on for our entire lives.

We pulled away when she needed to catch her breath, I leaned my forehead against hers and smiled softly.

We sat there for a minute before we eventually went inside holding hands.

"For the last time, the cheese goes on last!" We heard Asher yell from the kitchen.

"No, the cheese goes first!" Ashton yelled back. We walked into the kitchen to see the two idiots arguing with a frying pan with bread and cheese thrown in it.

"Ah finally! Everleigh please tell him the way I make cheese toast is right." Ashton said walking over.

"What is your way to make cheese toast?" Everleigh asked with a soft giggle.

"First I get out the frying pan then-"

"No." Everleigh interrupted.

"No? What do you mean no?" He asks.

"I mean no you wanna hear it in Spanish? No." She replied as Asher and myself absolutely lost it and busted out laughing.

"You don't use a frying pan for cheese toast." She said, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Exactly because your supposed to use the toaster for-"

"Absolutely not." Everleigh interrupted again while shaking her head. "God you two are absolute morons."

"Ouch little sis you're supposed to be nice to your long lost brothers." Ashton said, putting his hand over his heart.

"Preheat the oven, then put the bread on a normal oven safe pan, then put cheese on the bread and put it in the oven. That's how you make cheese toast." She exclaimed.

"Oh!" They both said in unison.

"I don't hear arguing anymore, did y'all finally kill each other?" Hunter said as he walked into the kitchen.

"No, our lovely little sister told us how to make it because she's not a dick like you." Asher said to Hunter.

"Okay kids, settle down. We actually have a guest coming over for dinner later tonight and you all need to be on your best behavior." Everleigh said.

"Yes mom." Her brothers said in unison.

"Wait, guest?" Hunter asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah a guest, me and Everleigh kind of got some extremely weird news today." I replied.

"What news?" Karson asked as he walked in with his other three brothers behind him.

"Well," Everleigh started, looking around the room.

"We actually have another mate." She said, looking at the ground.

"Huh?" They all said it at the same time.

"We have another mate apparently. His name's Aiden and he came to my office today because he is supposedly taking over as alpha for our old pack but as you could probably guess, we didn't not talk about that at all." I explained.

It was silent for a minute before Jason finally spoke up. "Hope you know that we will most definitely give him a hard time before he is allowed anywhere near our sister. We accepted you because from what I've heard, you protected her growing up so we don't have to worry about you. But he is a stranger and will not get the same leniency from us."

"Yeah what he said." Asher said, with a mouth full of cheese toast.

"I'm gonna change into something more appropriate for dinner." Everleigh said before kissing all of their cheeks then pecking my lips and heading upstairs.

"What do we know about this guy?" Hunter asked with his arms still crossed.

"All I know is that before he even met my Gattina, he had already hurt her." I replied sitting in a chair at the table as they all followed.

"How so?" Karson asked.

"She was looking for me when she got there and followed the mate scent but didn't know that there where different ones or whatever and ended up finding him in a meeting room, fucking a blonde bitch from the office." I explained.

"I was mad at first until he explained that after years and years of looking for his mate, he finally gave up and just thought he didn't have one. So he started taking his anger out on other women through sex. When he looked at her and admitted everything about it and apologized, I could see the sincerity in his eyes. I could hear it in his voice." I said as I ran my hands through my hair.

"That's the mate bond. You can tell when your mate is lying or telling the truth, it's like a gut feeling that never goes away." Kolton explained.

"God this is so fucking weird." I exclaimed as I stood up.

"I mean I'm straight! At least I thought I was. Then this fucking sex god walks into my office yelling 'MATES' and suddenly I feel like I'm seeing Everleigh all over again. The same heart beat skip, the same butterflies, the same sweaty palms, and seeing her in his arms made me jealous. Not because he was holding my mate, but because I wished I was her!" I explained as I started pacing back and forth.

"Bro calm down. It is not uncommon for this stuff to happen and you know that. The only reason it's weird now is because you're the one going through it."

God this is gonna take some getting use to.
