March 20th, 1979

It was the last week of March and the break was arriving quicker than expected, McGonagall had already started taking names of the ones who were going to stay back.

Alasia albeit with great difficulty- managed to convince Regulas into giving his name. He had made the excuse of his upcoming end of term exams and that he wanted to spend all time studying.

Of course that wasn’t going to do any good. It was merely a temporary solution to a permanent problem.

A problem which was hovering above the entirety of Hogwarts while they all seemed to pretend it didn’t exist.

Pretended so that they could even though false- but get a sense of security- a feeling of being loved. A feeling of affection for their friends or partners as no one knew when someone would be reported dead.

“You coming to home for break, right?”

Alasia turned sideways from where her nose was dipped in the black leather grimoire to glance at Sirius Black. “Yes, you?”

“Yeah, I’m going home too.” He smiled.

Alasia smiled back knowing all too well it held true meaning. He really was going home, his real home. Somewhere he belonged and she was happy for him.

“Come on now, the carriages are leaving for the station.” Alasia sighed.

Before Sirius could protest, yells were heard from the side of James where he and Remus were pulled away by Peter, muttering something about sneaking in Honeydukes before they leave.

“Won’t join your gang?” Alasia grinned at Sirius who was leaned back against the trunk of a large willow, amusedly listening to the conversations.

His hair had grown in winters, curly strands reaching his chin length.

“I’d much rather not. Honeydukes- not my place.” He grinned back.

“I know.” Alasia got up from the bench, striding towards him and sitting in the shade under the willow. “Zonko’s more like.”

Sirius sat beside her, legs crisscrossed and head tilted towards her. “Absolutely”

“Don’t have certain Ravenclaws to shag today?”

Sirius stiffened, glancing at her eyes when the sunlight hit them. They were emerald green now. The dark hue of the colour had been evaporated by the sunrays, making it glisten like an autumn heaven glory, an immoral and corrupt sinister dazzle in them.

He smiled, knowing he was probably looking like an idiot but he couldn’t help it. Her despicable soul, the tainted thoughts and the inferior blaze was all but intriguing to him. It would’ve scared someone off but it drew him closer and closer.

A sudden fear settled in his chest, he wasn’t developing a crush was he?

“I’ll boil your teeth if you don’t stop smiling! Jeez, Sirius, it’s creepy.”

Sirius blinked, shaking his head as a faint blush crept up his cheeks. “Sorry, I zoned out…no I don’t have anyone. I mean I don’t want- I mean…yeah.”

“Right, let’s go.” Alasia groaned before abruptly standing up and walking where James and Remus stood, arguing with Peter over chocolate types.

“Hey, Lay. You’ll be sitting with us, right?” James chirped the moment Alasia came into view.

“I don’t know, maybe I should sit along Marlene. The girl’s been searching for me entire morning.” Alasia shrugged.

“Please, please, you can go spend some time with her in the express.” Peter pouted.
