Jade Knight is the daughter of Joseph Knight the owner of the most high-profile protection agency in America, Knight Security. Ever since she was a teenager she had worked alongside her family in the business.
Her job as was to protect Oliver Queen...
Voiceover: "Slade once told me that to survive on the island I needed something to cling to, something that made me more human. That thing was Oliver, Oliver was the one person I had that made me feel normal.. We belonged to each other, no one could ever come between us... I guess you could say we got a little clingy."
"And then I said, I told you to go left!"
"No, I dont believe a thing you say to me anymore!"
Jade grinned at her friend Jack, they had met up for lunch and his sister Rose was supposed to come into town and join them.
Jack laughed but then frowned as he looked to the doors "I wonder where Rosie is she should be here by now."
Jade shrugged "I seem to remember that Rose was never on time to anything."
Jack rolled his eyes "Yeah, and now her new bestie is just as bad as she is which doesnt help."
Jade raised an eyebrow "You dont sound too pleased about this bestie."
An annoyed look came over Jacks face "She's known the guy since college and has a huge crush on him and he's too in love with his best friend from childhood to notice.... Not to mention all the weirdness."
"Weirdness?"
Jack nodded "Yeah," he grew quite for a second before he spoke haltingly "his, his parents... His mom was killed the same night our dad was and his dad did it... And he has Rose thinking that there's something weird about the murders, so they'll drop whatever their doing half the time to go and chase down some stupid lead."
Jade shrugged "Everyone had their own way of grieving Jack..." Her phone rang and she looked down, seeing it was Oliver she answered "Hey babe, whats up?"
"My mother wants to meet me for lunch... Can you come too?"
"Babe, we talked about this, I met up with Jack for lunch.. And Rose was supposed to come to but she hasnt shown yet."
Jack looked up from a text he just got and showed it to his friend who frowned "Nevermind looks like shes not showing... How badly do you need me to come?"
Oliver was quiet for a second before he spoke "Nevermind, its fine have fun with Jack... You, you deserve it, you've been pulling over time and taking care of Violet.."
Jade smiled and stood moving outside so Jack couldn't hear her conversation "Hey, what do you say we go on a date tomorrow night, just you and me??"
Oliver smiled in the other side "That sounds nice, what will you wear?"
"What do you want me too wear?"
"You remember that dress you wore to our senior prom?"
Jade laughed "I'm kind of surprised you do, but yes.."
"Well i didnt get to dance with you that night, so wear that.."
"I'm not sure I'll fit but I'll try my best."
Oliver grinned and looked up seeing his mother leaving the building "Theres my mom, I'll see you later.."
Jade was about to answer when she Oliver screamed "Get down!"
The next noise was the sound of the phone falling along with gunshots, Jade turned and ran not bothering to tell Jack that she was leaving. She hopped on her motorcycle and took off towards Queens Consolidated, she arrived to chaos. There were cops and ambulances, she gought her way through the crowd until she reached an officer
"Excuse me! I'm Jade Knight! My fiance was here please let me in!"
The cop seemed to recognize her cause he nodded and took ahold of her hand leading her past the crowd. She found Oliver hopping into an ambulance as they finished loadin his mother up
"Oliver!" He turned and reached for her but the EMS worker shook his head "Sorry sir immiediate family only."
Oliver looked sadly to his wife as the doors were closed in her face, he had to face this by himself it would seem.

Later at the hospital Jade searched for Thea when she found her she gathered the crying girl in her arms. She looked up and realized that both Aaron and Freya were behind the girl, Freya held Violet in her arms.
"What news?" Aaron asked and Jade shook her head "I havent heard anything, Ollie was allowed farther back and he rode in with the ambulance, I had to come alone."
Jade handed the crying Thea over to Freya and took Violet in her arms before she motioned for her brother to step away a little bit so she could whisper
"Why does Moira not have guard on her? Every other member of the Queens family does, even Walter, so why not Moira?"
Aaron shrugged "Trust me we've tried, Walter has talked himself blue to get her to accept a guard but she wont.. The only person she has with her constantly is her driver and hes been with her for years."
Jade frowned "Did we hire him?"
Aaron shook his head "No, sometimes I get the feeling Moira doesnt 100% trust dad."
Jade was about to answer whenOliver entered the room she stood running to him "How is she?"
He nodded "She's fine she wasnt shot just a hit on the head."
The rest of the family gathered around as Oliver took his daughter from Jade and held her tight. Days like this reminded him of how fragile life was, he looked to his wife and pulled her closer.
The hospital doors came open and Jack entered by the side of Joseph and Ruby, looking for all the world like a member of the family. Oliver frowned slightly because he knew he would never be that close to his wife's family, and for some reason that grated more then anything.

The Knight family was gathered together whispering while Thea and Oliver went to see their mother and Jack had to go back on his shift at Queen Consolidated.
"They weren't after her, the guy she was with is up to his eyeballs in mob connections, they were after him." Joseph informed his children, making Jade frowned
"Whoever this was they werent professional, a mob job shouldnt have gone that messy."
Her family gave her a collective look and she bit her lip before grinning "What can I say, I know things."
Aaron looked up and groaned "Cops."
Every Knight turned and sighed in annoyance but moved forward collectively, Joseph addressed Detective Lance "Detective."
