Chapter-11
In the loot house, the final rays of the setting sun are seeping through the windows. Subaru and Elsa are staring at each other, trying to assess their chances of winning. But it seems that Elsa got tired of waiting and jumped into action.
She was on Subaru in just a second. 'She is fast' Subaru thought before tracking the path of her blade with his eyes. It seems that it was going to hit him in his guts. Subaru ignored the blade and threw his own punch at her face. Both smiled, confident at their victory.
*-Clang-* *-Crack-*
The sounds of metal clashing and bones breaking sickeningly rung throughout the loot house. Elsa took a few steps backward while holding her nose which was now broken and bleeding severely, while nothing happened to Subaru except a tear in his shirt revealing his silver abs.
"Oh my, that was quite a punch. But your defense is even more impressive. I wonder how much it takes to break through that." Said Elsa, now with a bloodied nose.
"Try me." After the initial exchange, Subaru was pretty confident that Elsa won't be able to get through his defense, at least not with the level she has shown.
Elsa again dashed towards Subaru, but now rather than attacking directly, she maneuvered around him a few times hoping to confuse him. It worked pretty well as Subaru was looking around, unable to track her erratic moments. She then attacked him again, this time targeting his eyes. Subaru noticed this at the last moment, but it was too late. *-CLANG-* She was still not able to bypass his defenses. Subaru without wasting a moment immediately threw a punch at her gut, but it was easily dodged by Elsa.
This continued for some time with Elsa cutting him everywhere in an effort to find a weak point in his seemingly un-penetrable defense and Subaru counter-attacking at every chance only to be dodged by Elsa effortlessly.
"Even though your strength, speed, and defense are impressive, you lack proper technique, Pervert Kun. Do you really think you can defeat a trained assassin with just those?" Irritatedly said Elsa. She wasn't able to bypass his defense no matter how much she tries and Subaru seems that he can maintain his technique indefinitely. The only thing that is different with Subaru is now his clothes contained multiple cuts and his shirt was barely hanging on.
Subaru remained silent at her words. After catching her breath, Elsa again struck Subaru's neck thinking that he would just tank her attack and tries to punch her. But contrary to her expectations, he ducked and caught her wrist. 'How? Ohh.. he is adapting to my speed.' Thought Elsa before her wrist was broken with a *snap*. She was then thrown onto the ground by Subaru who still didn't set her free. He then got onto her and said "Surrender peacefully, you don't want to go through this."
"Sorry, but I think I will still choose the option of gutting you all." Subaru got angered by listening to how little she values life.
"Then I will beat you till you are unconscious." Saying this, he started punching Elsa's face repeatedly. Elsa tried to get free, but Subaru's strength is too much. She slashed him indiscriminately in hope that he would let go, but he didn't. Elsa's face was almost completely mangled at this point.
"Give up, dammit." Subaru again raised his fist. *-BAM-* All of a sudden, he felt something impacting the back of his head. Even though it is not painful, it still threw him off balance, Elsa capitalized on this chance and got free. Subaru looked around to see what hit him, he saw Felt moving her leg up and down, trying to tell something to him. Then he understood. 'So this Elsa bitch kicked me in the back of my head even while she was restrained. Damn, that was some godly flexibility.'
Subaru got up and looked at Elsa. He was shocked when he saw that her mangled face was healing at a rate visible to the naked eye. 'She even got super regeneration! This situation is getting worse and worse.'
As if reading his mind, Elsa spoke with a perverted grin "Ara, Pervert Kun seemed to be impressed by my regeneration. But there is still much left to see. I will show it to you after I took care of the sidekicks." She rushed toward Emilia saying this. "Emilia, LOOK OUT!" yelled Subaru.
Seeing Elsa coming towards her, Emilia frowned.
"Don't underestimate me." Saying this Emilia conjured an ice shield and blocked Elsa's attack. Elsa tried to maneuver around her but Emilia created another icicle and kept Elsa at a safe distance. "It seems that you have more technique than that boy. But you just need one hit to go down." Elsa continued her assault.
Right then Old man Rom entered the fray swinging his club. "I will smash you and feed you to rats, you wretch." He continued swinging his club. But Elsa was dodging his swings pretty easily. Just as Rom did another swing, Elsa ducked beneath it and swung her blade towards his neck. But before it can connect, it was deflected by Felt who charged between Elsa and Rom. Before Elsa can continue, she was assaulted by a barrage of icicles.
"Did we get her?" asked Rom and Felt who now put some distance between them and the bloodthirsty assassin.
The smoke cleared to reveal Elsa who is perfectly fine and was covering herself with the black robe on her back. The robe then slowly dissipated into nothingness.
"Magic-Protection-Robe. It protects the wearer from a magic attack before dissipating. Even though it is a one-time use thing, it is not cheap." Said Emilia when she saw her charged attack was ineffective.
"Hey Emilia! Why don't you take Puck out? I am pretty sure he can handle this gut-loving sadist." Said Subaru believing the Great spirit's greatness.
"Sorry, Subaru. But Puck can only remain active until Five. After that, he goes to sleep." Apologized Emilia.
"What is he? A public servant? Anyway, so that means we should handle her by ourselves, huh?" Saying this Subaru stretched his arm towards Elsa.
"Surrender Elsa, my next move will be a killing move. This is your last chance." Subaru said with a grim voice.
"Oh my! I am pretty scared." Elsa paid no heed to his words and got ready to attack again.
"You made me do this. I have no other option." Subaru's fingers started glowing eerie black color.
The atmosphere in the loot house turned heavy.
Subaru said with a heavy heart "Throat Crushing Grasp."(MULTIPLE)
Out of nowhere, Elsa felt like her body was being crushed by some invisible force. She wasn't able to fight back no matter how much she tried.
*-SPLATTTTT-*
She then turned into a bloody pulp. The blood splashed everywhere. The loot house became deadly silent. The smell of blood drifted in the air along with rotten wood in the loot house. Everyone felt uncomfortable seeing the scene before them.
"S-s-she... she is surely dead now, isn't she?" said Felt with a trembling voice, trying her hardest to not puke at the scene before her.
"Yeah, there is no chance that she is alive. Her body was completely turned to paste. No one can survive that." Even though Rom's voice is calm, one can see his pupils narrowing in shock. 'What a power this kid has? He didn't use it earlier because he thought to capture her alive. But seeing her attacking bystanders, he decided to not take any risks and killed her.'
*-BLERGH-*
Everyone now turned to look at Subaru who was puking his guts out. Even his silver skin got deactivated.
"SUBARU" Emilia went to check Subaru. "Subaru, are you okay? Subaru, answer me." Emilia tried to make Subaru talk. But he is still in a trance.
'I killed a human. I killed a human. I killed a human. I killed a human. I killed a human. I killed a human. I killed a human. I killed a human. I killed a human. I killed a human.....' He was still in shock. He did it because he didn't want anyone to die. If he didn't kill Elsa, which results in her killing someone else, he won't be able to live with such guilt. So he steeled his heart and used his most powerful move. But even then, after seeing the scene before him, he wasn't able to remain calm.
'I killed her. I killed her. I killed her....' The same thing was repeating in his head, making him sick. Someone was calling him. But he is not in the right state of mind to answer them.
*-SMAAACCKKKK-*
He felt someone smacking his head hard.
"OUCH! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?" He turned towards the culprit, Old man Rom.
Rom simply lifted Subaru to his legs and said "Listen kid, I know this is your first kill from your reaction and I know what you are going through. But in this dog-eat-dog world, you should be tough in order to survive. Think like this, if you didn't kill her, she might kill everybody here and then you. So what you did is not wrong. Don't fret about it too much. Life is too short to waste it drowning in guilt. In the future you may need to kill even more people, so man up and don't be such a wimp."
"Yes Subaru, there is no need for you to feel guilty. Even though I can't say I approve of it, what you did there is rightfully in self-defense. By doing that, you even saved me. So pleeeeeease don't feel bad about yourself." Consoled Emilia, while helping Subaru to stand.
"Yeah, big bro. That bitch got it coming. I can still clearly feel my skin crawling just by remembering her bloodlust. By killing her not only did you save us, but you also saved many of her future victims." Said Felt while remembering the feeling Elsa gave her.
"Thanks guys! I might be able to pull o-" Subaru stopped mid-sentence. When everyone is wondering what was wrong, he fell forward.
"Big bro!"
"Subaru!"
Emilia and Felt rushed towards Subaru. Felt got to him first and supported him in her hands. It was then she saw the stab on his back. Emilia and Rom also arrived just instants after and saw the wound.
"W-w-what? How?"
"I was sure big bro didn't get hurt during battle. Then why—"
Then came a sultry voice "Ara, It was done by me. Though I should say I am flattered by reaction Pervert-Kun had to my death." A figure came out of the dark. It was none other than Elsa Granhiert.
