"You're not eating dinner again?"

Dami's voice echoes through the kitchen to the living room where you were sitting reading a book while having coffee.

"No"

The simple answer was enough for Dami to close the lights inside the house before going upstairs to sleep since she already finished having dinner. It was always like this anyways, Dami takes care of the house and you bring back money for your living expenses with her.

It wasn't like you were both dating anyways, it was more tied to what happened in the past. The past where you lost your friends and the day Dami lost her family. It was a hard time for Dami to cope. She would have ended up like you if you weren't careful but thankfully nothing like that happened.

You were more than willing to be the corrupted one rather than Dami because she's the only family you have left and same goes with Dami who never dared to question you and your personal affairs. It was a peaceful household for short.

"If it were me, I would have killed Y/N on the spot"

Jiu takes off her police uniform and puts some casual clothes in her closet.

"In any case, why didn't you kill Y/N? Is the real question"

Siyeon just continues rubbing her wet hair sighing heavily with her eyes closed trying to relax with her back leaning on her chair.

"Killing someone like Y/N would be like giving a gift to a child, do criminals fear death? Especially for someone like Y/N"

Jiu didn't get what Siyeon was rambling about but she tends to be more curious than the rest of Siyeon's friends so she continues to ask questions even though the younger woman hates it.

"Do you fear death, Siyeon?"

Siyeon just laughs it off before leaving their shared bedroom.

"Yah!! Answer the question"

Jiu shouts from inside the room making the latter shake her head leaving the house for some fresh air.

"Why didn't I kill Y/N huh? It was never my job to kill someone I'm not tasked to kill, that's your answer"

Siyeon muttered to herself feeling the cold air hit her skin prompting Siyeon to shiver rather violently since inside it was very warm compared to when Siyeon started to take a stroll outside.

The neighborhood wasn't all that welcoming at first but as time went by it became quite the home for Siyeon or at least that's what she likes to think. She's barely home because of work but still a good night's rest can go a long way for Siyeon who is too exhausted sometimes.

"You're no different"

Siyeon's breath hitched at the memory from just a few hours ago taking a detour so she could walk some more.

Just one text message, that's all it took for Siyeon to immediately go towards the target. The mayor himself before she can even enter the house where he was staying only to see you already taking care of it.

Siyeon could have easily left you to deal with the guards that just arrived to kill you but somehow in some way she decided to take the hit and fight all of them.

"Siyeon? Why are you doing this?"

The last guy who was coughing up blood questions her loyalty which Siyeon easily has shown to be wavering just because she saw someone killing the mayor already.

"I don't like questions"

That's the last thing he hears from Siyeon before meeting his demise, placing the last body in the garbage bag just right in time you were about to leave the house and that's where Siyeon meets you in a much closer situation.

She was just about to leave when you started to fight Siyeon which left her no choice but to handcuff you and take you to the police station.

"I shouldn't have done that, why did I do that?"

Siyeon groans out of frustration seeing her house from afar in a way she didn't want to go back home. It seemed like sleep wasn't getting to her even if she entered inside the warm house. Something was bothering Siyeon and it's definitely the situation from earlier as the question remains in her head.

Why did I do that?

Morning came in a blink of an eye, flinching violently with the sound of someone going downstairs. The book you had on your hands fell on the ground as you processed where you were and what you were doing.

"Do you want breakfast Y/N?"

Dami's morning voice woke you up fully prompting you to pick up the book you were reading shaking your hand.

"I have to leave and get the money, what time is it?"

You place the book down on the coffee table before walking towards the stairs to go take a shower and change into some new clothes.

"6 am"

You sigh, noticing that you only had 2 hours of sleep whilst going upstairs to do your routine.

"No breakfast for me"

You shout from upstairs before going inside the bathroom to take a shower. Maybe it was the cold water hitting your skin but a memory suddenly strikes your brain as if it was meant to happen while you were showering.

You were going to ignore the woman you saw whilst you were leaving since she seemed like she was just passing by and you didn't want to cause any unnecessary problems. That would ruin your paycheck, at least from your past experiences it was like that.

Yet in the corner of your eye, you saw something moving in the trash bag trying to shrug it off. You were about to leave when you saw a laser pointing on the side of Siyeon's head. It wasn't your job to interfere over someone's death or not but she seemed so innocent.

Under good conscience which surprisingly you still have, you started to fight Siyeon messily in order for the person who was about to shoot Siyeon to fail their shot. What you didn't expect is that you'll get sent to the police station even though you were trying to help.

"That woman, doesn't she know I saved her life back there tsk"

You finish showering as you dry yourself wearing a new set of clothes before placing everything in the washing machine.

"Are you sure you're not going to eat breakfast? You haven't eaten dinner as well"

Smiling at Dami, you shook your head before taking a new fresh coat that Dami prepared for you. It was still quite cold outside, thankful that Dami noticed that you pat her head softly before announcing that you were heading out.

"I'll buy dinner later. I won't be gone for too long"

Dami just nods waving goodbye to you.

"Get back home safely"

You just nodded, finally taking your leave to get the money from one of your clients. Wishing that your paycheck wasn't going to be cut because of the stunt you played with Siyeon before you were sent to the police station.

Wish me luck
