Who ever said that your high school years were the best times of your life were fucking liars.

School was a pain in the ass. It was draining. The amount of work the teachers dump on you, the snide and hurtful comments that are thrown at you from peers who think they're better then you when they're actually just pricks, and the high levels of anxiety and insecurity that school gives you will last a lifetime.

(Y/n) hated school. It was no surprise really. Despite his brother being the captain of the lacrosse team and popular, he was an easy target for bullies. He tried his best to stand up for himself, but with all the supernatural shit that happens in that town he's always too drained to fight back. Which leads us here.

He refused to lift up his head as he sat on the hospital bed, eyes focused on the old tattered shoes that he refused to throw away despite them falling apart. His mother gently wrapped his arm in a cast and put butterfly stitches over the large cut over his left eyebrow, as well as the one on his cheek.

It was silent as she put everything back where it belonged, occasionally shooting glances at her youngest son.

"Are we going to keep being silent or are we going to talk about what happened?"

His (e/c) eyes flickered up for a second before once again focusing on his shoes.

"I just tripped over and fell down the stairs, that's all."

"(Y/n), we both know that's not true."

Heaving out a sigh, he gave up trying to lie to her. She always seemed to know when he was lying.

"Some kids at school did it."

"Why didn't you tell me you're getting bullied? Have you told anyone at school? And of your friends or Scott?"

"No, they have more important things to think about at the moment, they don't need me getting in their way. I didn't tell you cause...I didn't want you to think less of me. I'm not strong like Scott or cleaver like stiles. I'm just a human who's too tired to fight back."

Melissa pulled her son into a tight hug, whilst being careful of his broken arm that was in a cast.

"I'd never think any less of you just for being bullied. It happens to anyone, whether they're werewolves, banshees, kanima or whatever. It wouldn't do for everyone to be the same. I don't think my heart could take it if you were exactly like Scott, always running head first into danger."

They shared a small chuckle before she pulled away slightly, cupping his face gently with her hand.

" Being human doesn't make you any less strong. In fact, I think it makes you the strongest. But next time those kids pick on you, tell someone, ok?"

When he nodded, she kissed him on the forehead and pulled him into another hug.

"Now, come on mister. My shifts almost finished so lets go home"

(I wanted to do Melissa first since she's my favourite character and she's one of my biggest comfort characters. If you have any requests please feel free to comment. Thank you for reading)
