me, the trio and the twins all sat at the gryffindor table that evening, i didn't feel really hungry and didn't have much of an appetite so i just played with my food. my mind was elsewhere, the conversation my friends were having sounded distant to my ears.

my attention was soon brought back to dumbledore who was clearing his throat, my chin sitting comfortably in the palm of my hand. "It is now time to reveal the three Triwizard champions." he said, silence filling the room as the fire turned a pink shade for a split second, before turning blue again. the piece of paper flew down to him, as he caught it in his hands.

"The durmstrang champion is.. Victor Krum!" he finally spoke, cheers erupting from the durmstrang boys as he congratulated himself, proudly walking up to the fire as dumbledore shook his hand.

then, the next small piece of paper flew out from the fire and into his hands. "the champion from beauxbatons is Fleur Delacour!" he cheered, my eyes wandered to the girl in blue who was smiling happily, her friends ushering her to walk up as dumbledore shook her hand politely too.

"Now, the hogwarts champion is.. Cedric Diggory!" he said, my smile widening as i clapped loudly for the boy. i knew he wanted to get chosen, so i was proud of him.

"That's it! we now have our three champions, but in the end, only one will go down in history. This vessel of victory, the triwizard cup!" he spoke loudly, the raggedy cover was pulled off the trophy and it shown a beautiful glass cup.

weirdly, the fire had started to light up again like how it did for the last three champions. Professor dumbledore turned, slightly confused as he walked back up to it. to our suprise, another small sheet of paper came flying out. Dumbledore instantly caught it, giving a weird look.

"harry potter... harry potter?" he said, looking frantically around the room as my eyes shot to harry. his face went pale, as he gave a worried look at me. "No.. no." hagrid spoke. it must've been a mix up.

Dumbledore shouted his name again, as hermione put her hand on his shoulder. "come on, harry." she murmured, lightly pushing him as the confused boy turned to look at her. "Harry, for goodness sake." she spoke, shoving him. the poor boy walked up to the fire, taking the paper from dumbledore as he gave him a worried look.

"how come that tosser got in and we didnt?" george joked, "because he didn't put his name in that cup." hermione replied, not in the mood for jokes as george scowled at her seriousness. ron had stormed off, clearly in a bad mood which everyone was quite confused about. "I hope that git knows that harry couldn't have possibly put his name in that, you saw what happened to fred and george." i spoke, as the twins both gave eachother looks.

we went up to our dormitories for a while, still having tons of time until curfew. it was only four pm, but the classes for today had ended early because of the triwizard announcements. i spoke with hermione for a while, before i got changed into my comfier clothes and went outside to get some fresh air.

my shoes had nearly sunk into the grass as i walked out to the courtyard, immediately seeing the familiar ginger flying around on his broom. "hey, larke!" he called, as he flew down to me. "hi fred, having fun?" i grinned, as he jumped off his broom to catch his breath. he simply nodded, smirking as he looked down at me.

"alright, now that i've caught my breath would you like to explain why you've been avoiding me since yesterday?" he furrowed his eyebrows, drinking his water as i scowled. "because you were sitting with iris." i admitted, as he burst out laughing. "what? fred, its not funny!" i complained, folding my arms as i threatened to walk off.

"alright alright! you know i didn't do that on purpose, right?" he said, as i pulled a look. "she practically dragged me down to the bloody seat, i didn't have a choice but i wanted to sit with you." he shrugged, as i furrowed my eyebrows. "you sound a bit jealous, smidge." he whispered, "are you ever going to stop calling me that?" i huffed, as he shook his head with a smirk.

"what are you doing out here anyway?" he asked curiously, running his fingers through his ginger hair. "im going for a walk." i said, as he pulled a sour look. "bit boring, don't you think?" he said, as i shrugged. "so what? theres nothing better to do with hogsmeade closed down for the month." i said, pulling my jacket closer to my body.

"well then, im going to teach you how to fly on a broom since we all know your not the greatest." he teased, as i scrunched my nose up. "no, i don't want any broken bones." i scoffed, running a hand through my brunette locks as he smirked. "oh dont worry dear nova, i'll keep you safe!" he exaggerated, causing me to laugh as i couldn't help but give in.

he instructed me to sit on the broom and wrap my hands around it tightly, which i did. "practice makes perfect." he whispered, winking. "now, move forward." he said, folding his arms. "i dont know if you've noticed, but i don't know how to do that!" i exclaimed, giving fred a stern glare as i watched him laugh. "just lean forward slightly." he said, smiling lightly as i got it after a couple of tries.

i didn't dare to go any higher up, that was for another day. "now come on, get on." fred grinned, as i got onto the broom very slowly, instantly wrapping my hands around his waist. "ready?" he said, a smirk clearly plastered on his face as i merely nodded. he flew up in the air, causing me to squeal with fear but adrenaline coursing through my veins as i held onto him even tighter.

"fred, your crazy!" i shouted, as he sped up whilst flying around the field. "i know, but you love it!" he laughed loudly, we were high enough to bloody reach the clouds. i leaned my head on his back, looking at the birds as my stomache felt like a washing machine.

"should we go upside down?" he laughed, my eyes widening. "absolutely not, frederick weasley!" i said, as he spun the two of us upside down. i squealed, causing him to laugh as he flew back down to the floor.

"god, your absolutely crazy fred." i laughed, fixing my hair as he watched intently, a small smile on his face.

we spent the evening enjoying each others company, before the bell for the curfew went and we both walked into the common room, side by side. "are you gonna be coming home with us for christmas?" fred asked, smiling lightly as i shrugged. "im not too sure." i simply replied, as fred said the password to the common room. "I'd be happy with you there, larke." he winked, causing me to laugh before we saw ron, hermione and george sitting on the sofa.

"nova, why are you hanging out with fred?" ron asked, furrowing his eyebrows. "because she wanted to?" fred replied, giving the same tone that ron spoke in. he gave a bad look towards me, before turning his back to the pair of us.

"ron, quit being a moody git." george spoke, narrowing his eyes at the younger ginger who ignored the comment. i placed myself next to hermione, who gave me a small smile. "you didn't say anything, did you?" i whispered, as she shook her head almost immediately. "of course not! he's been in a stupid mood since the triwizard champions were chosen." hermione said, as i almost completely forgotten. "i'll be back." i said, pressing a kiss onto hermiones forehead as i walked up to ron and harry's dorm.

i knocked softly on the door, earning a "come in" from a familiar boy. i smiled lightly, quietly opening the door as harry's eyes looked up from the book he was reading. "hey harry, how are you doing?" i asked curiously, seeing the sadness portrayed onto his face. "i didn't choose to be picked, i don't know how my name was put in that fire." he sighed, as i pulled him into a hug, comforting the boy.

"you believe me, dont you?" he asked softly, as i nodded. "of course i do, harry. i don't know how your name was put in the fire but it most certainly wasn't you. i saw what happened to fred and george when they tried it." i spoke, as his head rested onto my shoulder. "now, i don't know what the hell ron is playing at but it is unfair and i'll have a word with you about it. he's your best friend, he should believe you." i said, as he nodded.

"thank you nova." he smiled lightly, as i stood up from his bed. "of course harry, i'll let you be. goodnight!" i spoke, exiting his room as i shut the door after me and wandered back down the steps, heading up to my own bed.
