Dave yawned as he arose from the grass he had slept in. Something felt odd to him though and in realization, his eyes widened a bit. Bambi was no longer near him, thus he panicked a bit. He looked around and saw the short farmer sitting by the pond, munching on a piece of corn that he had somehow gotten.
Dave felt relieved, and rubbed his eyes. He then walked up towards Bambi, but it seemed to him that the farmer was trying to avoid making any sort of contact with him, since he clearly didn't respond to Dave when he gave him a cheerful "Good morning".
Dave's tone of voice got softer and much more silent as he tried to speak again.
"Bambi? What's the matter bud?"Dave recieved no response, but he did see Bambi's ears turn slightly red. He was definitely embarrassed about something, and Dave had an idea of what it might have been.
He chuckled a bit and said, "Bambi, I don't mind how you slept last night! Believe me, I'm being honest."Hearing this made Bambi wonder how Dave had easily guessed what the issue was, but he closed his eyes and sighed in relief. He stood and looked up to Dave as he held onto a bit of his shirt, but with a a very sad expression, a very heart shattering one, like a puppy trying to beg its owner for something with pleading eyes.
"Don't go, please don't go and leave me alone forever, I can't bare feeling empty, having nobody to talk to for another day!"
Tears began coming out of the poor farmers eyes, even though he tried hard not to cry. It was unresistable.Dave looked down at Bambi with a pityful look indeed. He nearly cried himself from how bad he felt. Hearing those words felt like a knife going through his chest.
"Bambi, as much as it hurts, I can't just stay here forever. But, that doesn't mean I'll leave you alone forever either. I'll come to visit you everyday whenever possible, and if you'd like, you can even call my number!"Bambi lightened up hearing this, his eyes glimmered. He nodded in excitement, and Dave wrote down his number on a loose piece of paper stored inside his bag, and handed it to Bambi.
Once Bambi received the piece of paper, he hugged it, almost nearly crumbling it completely. This meant a lot to him, especially the bond he had created with Dave.Seeing this made Dave chuckle in happiness, but before he said his final goodbye, he grabbed his camera, and said, "Say corn!"
"Click!"
The camera now had a picture of Bambi hugging the paper as he smiled cheerfully.
Bambi had a confused expression on his face wonder why Dave had taken a picture of him.Dave blushed a bit, smiled, and said shyly with a soft tone of voice, "I only take pictures of things that are special to me."
