Mermaid Tale - Different Version of H2O

"Hi girls, you made it." We had just entered the classroom after school.

"You wanted to say something important to us?" Courtney asked.

"Ahh....yes actually. I was just going to ask you if you guys were alright going to Mako Island?" The teacher sounded very concerned like there was something about the island that she wasn't telling us about.

"Yeah...we are alright." We said really slowly just in case she was forgetting to tell us something.
"Why wouldn't we be alright, Miss?"

"It's just that..." The teacher stammered softly.

"Is there something that you aren't telling us?"

"It's just that some people believe that there are some very weird and unknown creatures on the island that have not yet been discovered so I really think that you three should be careful and don't lose each other." She said quickly.
We all knew that there was more to Mako Island than she is telling us and we knew she wasn't telling us the whole truth.

"Um..where are we gonna sleep?"

"Oh right girls, you have two options. Either you camp on Mako Island outside or every night you go back to the mainland and live in a hotel there."

The teacher wanted us to choose straight away because if we were going to go back to the mainland she had to book our hotel now.

We discussed it for a very long time and in the end we decided to camp on the island just in case we saw something cool at night.

I was at home packing my bag for the trip while I was Skyping Courtney and Lily so we could all check together that we had everything we needed.

Courtney:"What do you think the teacher meant by there being unknown creatures on the island?"
Lily:"Maybe it's something magical.."
Me:"Lily, there is no such thing as magic and you even admitted it last year."
Lily:"Yeah I know but still..."
Courtney:"Guys, I've got to go now but I'll meet you at the front of the school gate to wait for the taxi. Bye."
Lily and I:"Bye."
