Alex rolled out of bed and groaned, she was really hoping everyone would dress up for Halloween again this year but the year had decided against it. She really wanted to show off her Karate Kid costume she made with the help of Atlas, they made an exact replica of Johnny's red Cobra Kai jacket. But she was really excited because she could see Max, they may have only met yesterday but Alex felt some sort of pull towards the girl.

Alex was planning to ask Max to go trick or treating with her and just tell her friends that her brother wasn't letting her out or something. But then Alex was hit by a wall in her mind; Has Max watched Karate Kid? or would she just find her costume boring? Nope, that's not the way to think, optimism is key.

The car ride to the school was boring, Atlas and Steve were too busy talking about some Halloween party they were going to tonight. "Don't get too drunk and accidentally make a mini Steve and Atlas tonight, but mostly Steve because Nancy is totally hot," she called, making her brothers roll their eyes.

"Get your board out the back, i cant pick you up" Steve called, leaving her to get the skateboard in question and then shut the window on her, so she walked over to where the party were chaining up their bikes, all in ghostbusters costumes.

"Hey ghostbusters, did you miss the memo" she asked sliding into the group beside Lucas.

The boys all looked at her, dressed in just her jersey, a jacket and jeans and then at everyone else who was just in their normal clothes. They all shared a look of annoyance and embarrassment before just holing their chins high and following Alex into the building.

"Who you gonna call? the nerds" some kid hollered at them, causing the party to look down in embarrassment.

"don't worry about them" Alex said, walking towards her own locker beside the boys'.

"are we gonna do this?" Alex overheard Dustin ask Lucas.

"Not right now, we look like Morons" Lucas replied, looking at Max at her own locker down the hall.

"She might like Ghostbusters?"

"Of course she likes Ghostbusters, but that's not the point"

"Dustin, the point is that you guys are dressed up and the rest of the school aren't" Alex said, catching Dustin up to Lucas' thinking.

"Well i didn't bring any other clothes,"

"me neither"

"Then we have no choice, We have to do this now. It's now or never"

"right"

"lets engage" Dustin declared, turning to Lucas.

They didn't move though as Max closed her locker or as she walked down the hall towards her class. Alex laughed as Dustin huffed and told Lucas they would do it later.

Alex's gaze just followed Max down the hall in wonder, something about the way she walked with such confidence and didn't seem to notice when people looked at her.

But then Alex noticed her friends looking at her weirdly for standing around with Dustin and Lucas and had to fit in, "Sorry guys, gotta go," she said quickly, jogging over to her friends and falling into whatever gossip they are exchanging.
