After the short surprise of the large vessel, my anxiety and slight megalophobia (which happens to be real fear) was starting to kick in. Every so often a wave would sneak up behind us and we would edge ever so closely towards it."Its a freighter!" A few of the other survivors spoke from their rescue boat.
"So, do you recon we should check this out or stay hidden below, until we most likely get sucked under?" I said after everybody finally took in the colossal ship.
Kakyoin let out a small laugh beside me "Don't be silly, we can't get sucked under the ship as long as we stay in the boat." He said giving me a reassuring smile.
"Hmmm, well good thing I'm not in the mood for a swim." Glancing down at the choppy waters.
"Jotaro," Joseph said turning towards his grandson. "somethings bothering you, isn't it?You look worried, almost like there's another stand user on this freighter?"
"Not quite." He said in his usual deep voice "Strange they lowered the stairs, but theres not a single soul to be seen anywhere. "
"This ship came all this way to rescue us!" Polnareff interrupted, and quickly jumping onto the bottom set of stairs that led up to the ship. "There has to be some sort of crew on board, even if their all stand users I'm getting on this boat."
Soon after, everyone slowly started their dissent up the tall set of stairs that clung to the side of the ship, me and the small stowaway however weren't having it, as our feet stayed glued to the rescue boat.
"If they tell us to spilt up when we get up there, promise you wont wander off without me." I whispered towards the girl.
"Are you seriously scared?" she said, as I slowly edged my way towards the end of the boat.
"What? no! I just have trust issues!" I whispered back.
"So you have trust issues with yourself?" She questioned. with a look of confusion on her face.
"uhmm...ugh!, look I don't have time to argue with a ten year-old about my problems ok?!" I whispered with frustration as the small line to freedom was shortening ever so quickly.
"Ok I'll stay with you...as long as you give me a piggy back?" she said, her voice laced with excitement.
"Whatever." I sighed.
"Take my hand, I'll help you up." Jotaro said bending down to the girl.
"Uhm, I think I'll take it from here Jotaro." I said as I reached to the banisters of the stairs, pulling my body weight along with small girl that scaled the side of my back.
Once I finally reached ground level I let out a sigh as I collapsed onto the set of stairs.
"Don't ever make me carry you again." I sighed once more.
"But you only made it to the first step?" She said sounding slightly disappointed.
"yeah, yeah, I'm saving my energy kid." waving my hands about, as I tried to look for something to grab on.
"C'mon you three, get up here!" Joseph yelled from the top of the stairs.
Once we finally made it to the top, the ship was completely desolate, no matter how many times we called, shouted each room had been left spotless no sign of life anywhere well...
"Guys, come quick!" the small girl shouted pointing towards a large metal door that had been left open, As everyone swarmed over. "Its an Ape! In some kinda cage?"
"Its an orangutan," Kakyoin simply corrected.
"With strangely large tits . UHh I mean, what?" The words quickly escaped my mouth.
"Good grief."
"Ugh, look who the hell cares about a friggin' ape! Lets split up and see who's been feeding this thing!" joseph whaled, as the others followed him out the room.
"Ugh, just as I predicted why? why do we have to split up? I don't even know how to properly use my stand!" I shouted, as joseph very clearly pulled the mystery incorporated card on me.
"I would agree with you, but what the hell is a stand?" girl from beside me questioned.
"Some gradian type thing that follows you around when you're in trouble , fights off 'evil guys' 'creeps', 'weirdos' that also have stands? Although mine doesn't seem to do very much." I said picking away anxiously at my nails.
"woah, was that the thing that was waving me around in the air back then?" she said.
"oh no, not my stand." I chuckled. "that was an old man with his 'Dark moon' stand and lets just hope there aren't anymore creeps, weirdos and evil guys on this ship!"
As we finally followed out the room, commotion could be heard gathered around the crane that stood towering above the rest of the crew.
"Y/n, stay close to the girl I don't want her to get into any trouble." Avdol said, as he pulled me to one side.
"What happened?" I said as I tried to catch a glimpse of the scene behind his broad shoulders.
"One of the the members of crew was just killed by one of the cranes! Just make sure you keep her and yourself away from here." He said as he guided us away.
"Are they ok?"
"What- no y/n, I just said they were killed from an accident, a gruesome one at that, now please just keep yourselves away whilst we look into this." Avdol said with a look of disbelief on his face.
"Right sorry! that's just me not paying any attention." I said awkwardly chuckling to myself. "God why did I say that?" I said, as me and the girl backed away quickly.
"This may seem a little late, but I don't appear to know you're name." I said, trying my best to start a conversation, as we walked back into the control room.
"Anne." she replied.
"Cool...that's cool." I said, the silence between us growing louder and more awkward "I'm Y/n by the way, not sure if you noticed"
"Yeah, yeah I noticed...hey! What's the monkey doing!" She said pointing her finger towards the cage.
"What?"
"Look! what kind monkey smokes! and looks at pin ups of girls!" Anne said as she got a better look at the gorilla."Yikes, This just got more bizarre." I said looking closely, as the monkey flipped through the pages of half naked women.
Suddenly the door swung open and two of the crew members strolled in...
"Hey you two be careful there, stay away from that orangutan!" one of them said.
"I've heard they have five times the strength of a normal human, so it could easily rip off your arm." the other said.
"Stay with us so you wont be by you-"
"We're fine thank you." I said quickly pulling Anne to one side "we were just leaving."
"why'd you have to pull me away like that they were just trying to help?" she said once we left the room and entered another dark hallway.
"You never know what could happen, people could have stands and maybe look like your average joe," I said.
