An Angel's Tail

Chapter 22

The very next day, when classes finished, Honey, Brad, Kitty, and I decided to meet up in the dining hall for dinner. Brad, Honey, and I waited by the entrance for Kitty to arrive.

"I'm glad you're finally making more friends," Brad said to me.

"Me, too," I said, relieved.

"I'm so glad I found that support group," said Honey.

"Yeah," I agreed. "Everyone there is so nice. I've never felt so accepted in a group setting before."

"And, Kitty is just the sweetest little ball of sunshine and the cutest little snugglepuff dumpling." Honey giggled warmly. "Awwww, I just wanna pick her up and hug her and let her ride on my tail."

Brad grinned at Honey's sweetness.

"Yeah, she's so nice," I said. "She's pretty much exactly like Honey, almost like her doppleganger personality-wise."

Brad laughed softly. "Well, the only thing better than one Honey is two," he joked.

Honey giggled. "You silly goose!" She kissed his nose. "I'll be right back, Sweetie-Pie. I need to go to the restroom for a minute." She rushed off to the bathroom, and I, being a girl, knew why.

"So, tell me more about Kitty," said Brad.

I smiled as I remembered meeting her. "She's one of the nicest people I've met in a really long time."

"Like, what does she look like?"

"She looks like a little girl, like literally. She's really tiny, and her face is really... I don't know."

"She has a baby face."

"Yeah, but really little-girl-like, and when she talks, she sounds like a little girl. And, she's really childlike and innocent yet really wise and mature at the same time."

Brad smiled. "She sounds amazing."

"She really is. I mean, she wanted to be my friend as soon as she met me."

"Well, I guess she could tell right away that you're a special person."

"I could tell she was, too."

"I could tell you were special when Honey introduced me to you, the way she talked about you on our first date."

I smiled. "Thanks."

"Now, you're like a sister to me."

"You're like a brother to me. I mean, besides Honey, you're the only other real best friend I was able to make... and keep."

"Well, it looks like you might've made another one."

"I hope so. I really like Kitty."

Just then, Kitty finally arrived right as Honey was exiting the bathroom.

"Kitty!" Honey squealed, running to Kitty.

"Honey!" Kitty squealed, running to Honey.

The two of them threw their arms around one another, and Honey wrapped her tail around Kitty.

Then, Kitty ran to me and tackle-hugged me! "Awwww, Maddie!" she squealed. "It's so good to see you again!"

"You, too, Kitty!" I laughed, returning the hug.

"And, who is this hottie-patottie cutie-patootie?" Kitty flirted.

"This is Brad!" Honey said enthusiastically. "He's my baby!"
