STANDING ALL ALONE ON THE platform, maeve waited for any familiar faces she could talk to with. her sister already left and took off with her friends, maeve assuring her that it was fine.
now she was standing there on her own, suitcase next to her and her self made bag grabbed tightly in her first. she hadn't seen anyone of her friends over the holidays- they were either on vacation, too busy or had these stuck up pureblood families who hated people like her- none purebloods.
acelin and edwin had to attend numerous balls and events, muriel went to germany and spent the rest of her time studying for the upcoming year, muriel had been doing some kind of world tour with her brother and severus was too busy- maeve never even bothered to answer his letters.
how they befriend each other? well- i wouldn't call it a friendship. he once defended the blonde from some bigger slytherin's in her fourth year, thinking she couldn't handle herself and ever since then they got along pretty well- until he started to turn into the same slytherin who bullied none purebloods.
sirius had had drama at home and a confiscated owl, james had been somewhere in america, remus had also had a confiscated owl and a stupid matron on his ass- peter was the only one who kept on writing her and spamming her with letters.
the girls side- lily had been on vacation, so had alice and dorcas had been spending very second with marlene, both of them locked in her room.
maeve had met some weird people during a late night drive deeper into the village. they hadn't been such goody two shoes, they were much more relaxed and, well- they took drugs.
they didn't force maeve to join in, they didn't bother as long as she kept on bringing alcohol to their secret meetings at the playground, but maeve wanted to try smoking herself. now she was addicted.
her hands were shaking a bit, anxiety filling her body as she saw hundreds of people rushing past her to get into the train, parents crying everywhere and students sticking their heads out of the windows.
she stood there, her head moving into every direction until she had enough. she grabbed her suitcase and decided to enter the train as well. she didn't have any parents here at the moment who she could have said goodbye to- they were in the hospital.
they both had spattergroit.
they found out about just at the beginning of vacations and what's why maeve didn't want to visit anyone, why she never replied to any letters. that's probably why no one waited for her at the station- she had been ignoring everyone, they didn't know why and it just happened all of sudden.
marlene didnt tell anyone about it, she only talked to dorcas and snogged constantly, making maeve take care of her little brother all alone, the rest of the family somewhere spread across the globe. she visited them basically everyday, going home late at night as soon as maxwell fell asleep in her lap.

then she put him to bed and watched dorcas leave or marlene come back, never asking how the parents were doing. she waltzed into her room and either escaped through the window or sat on the roof to smoke.
now the blonde wandered through the train and searched for a compartment to sit in- until she spotted aliva and muriel already sitting in one and chattering excitingly.
a small smile grew on maeve's face and she opened the door, the two girls mouths shut immediately and their gazes went over to the blonde who had just entered, both of their mood dropping instantly.
"hey guys", the small voice of maeve ringed as she closed the door behind her and turned to her friends, seeing them give each other a look and then avoiding her eye contact. "what's wrong?", she asked with a nervous smile, a small chuckle escaping her lips.
"we should be asking you that", the ginger scoffed, looking her blonde friend up and down, her old book almost falling off her lap.
"what'd mean?", the thick british accent laced in her voice, a hint of unsureness being recognized by eve friends.
"you never responded to any letters, we had no idea why and thought something happened- until we escaped from our vacation to make sure you are fine and spotted you sitting at a playground- smoking", the ginger emphasized the last word, putting extra pressure on it.
"and why do you look like that?", the brunette friend argued, staring at the top of her head in- disgust?
pink highlights, a septum and an eyebrow piercing, additionally to that she had multiple ear piercings and also wore darker makeup. she practically only owned baggier clothes or cut her old ones short.
she definitely looked like a complete different person.
"look, i had a rough summer, alright. i don't want to talk about it, we cool", maeve conquered, sounding almost annoyed at the confrontation.
"we're your best friends! we deserve to know!"
"you don't deserve to know bullshit, muriel!"
"then you can leave!"
the last sentence came from aliva, the girl being annoyed by her friends sudden change. the two didn't recognize her anymore, she told them basically everything, never got angry so quick- especially not with them.
this maeve mckinnon was not the maeve mckinnon they once knew- no one knew her anymore.
"you're full of shit, mate", and the blonde left the compartment with a slammed door.
and she bumped right into another figure, their bodies colliding as she fell onto her arse and hit the back of her head on the floor. her eyes were shut close until the figure she collided with grabbed her hand and pulled her up from the floor, her chest hitting the other persons one.
"sorry bout' that, darling. didn't mean to knock ye over", a heavy british accent chuckling right in her left ear, maeve coming face to face with the smell of cigarettes and some strong cologne- he smelled good.
she opened her eyes and saw the most handsome man she had ever lade her eyes on- after remus lupin.
curly brown hair, twinkling cute green eyes and dimples on his face as he laughed at the clumsiness of the girl. his eyebrows furred a bit at the fact that the girl didn't respond and simply blushed, making his face pull back into a smirk.
"you okay?", he asked her, tilting his head to the side.
"yeah! yeah, i'm fine, absolutely fine! i'm sorry- who are you? i've never seen you around", the blonde slapped herself on the inside for speaking in such a high voice at the beginning, as well as getting so red in the face.
