Jungwon released an annoyed sigh as he walked through the packed guys' dorm house. There was loud as hell music playing, which gave him a bad headache and made his ears ring. He grimaced as he reached up, putting a hand over one of his ears. He managed to push through the students that was causing the house to be packed. He'd hoped there would be no more parties, now that Nefeli was awake. But, the others wanted to throw another party, saying it was celebrating the fact she was awake and okay. Him, Riki, and her all protested against it. But, of course, the older ones didn't listen. Out of all of them, Nefeli was the oldest and even they didn't listen to her. Riki found it pretty sad, really. He felt they should've respected her not wanting a party. But, they threw one anyway. Speaking of, she was standing in the hallway of the house, trying to talk to Heeseung. But, he wasn't listening.
"You shouldn't be drinking. This isn't good for you. Please stop, before you get sick," Nefeli tells him, frowning.
He scoffed, finding her statement to be funny. He had already downed four cups of whatever alcohol they had. He also had three shots, as well. He was nowhere near drunk, but he was in the middle of feeling the buzz from it.
"This isn't funny, Hee. I'm serious. Stop it," she said, trying to grab his drink.
He pushed her hand away, glaring at her. "We talked about this already. You can't tell me what I can and can't do. I'm drinking, whether you like it or not. I'm an adult, I can make decisions on my own. I don't need you to make them for me!"
"I'm not trying to make decisions for you, Hee. I'm trying to tell you to stop drinking, before you get sick all over the place," Nefeli sighed.
"I'm not going to get sick! I've been drinking like this for an entire year. I'll be fine. Stop being my babysitter," he snapped at her.
Heeseung walked away from her and was about to go back into the living room. She reached out, grabbing his hand and stopping him. He looked at her over his shoulder, annoyed.
"Will you please just--"
"Stop trying to tell me how to live! I'm not stupid! Just because you're human and you can't hold your alcohol, it doesn't mean I can't! Now, get off my back and stop being a buzz kill!"
Nefi frowned as he ripped his hand out of hers and walked away from her. She felt an ache in her chest as he'd yelled at her. She wasn't trying to baby sit him. She was just worried she might find him somewhere, getting sick or getting into a fight. She sighed softly, staring at the floor. She made her way through the thick sea of people. After a minute, she made it to the front of the house. She opened the door and left, closing it behind her. During all of this, Riki and Jungwon watched this fight take place. They looked at each other, clearly upset by what had just happened.
A quiet sigh left Nefeli's mouth as she sat outside the house on a bench that was arranged on the porch. She stared out at the dark street, a frown on her face. She was trying not to be upset by Heeseung's words. She told herself that he was still upset over what had happened, that he needed more time. And she would happily give that to him if he needed it. She couldn't begin to understand what he'd gone through. But, then again, he shouldn't snap at her like that. She was just trying to help him. The front door opened and closed, with somebody coming and taking a seat on the bench next to her. She looked away from the street, to see who had come out.
"Don't let him get to you. He's been like that all year," Seonwoo said as he let out a sigh, leaning back against the bench.
"I'm not.. I'm trying to understand it from his point of view," Nefeli said in a soft voice.
He looked at her and gave her a soft smile. "That's why you're so different from other girls. You do your best to understand it from our side. Even when we don't deserve it."
"Don't be silly. You guys will always deserve to be understood. Sure, the group of you can be assholes at times. But, you're all my friends. My family. I love you guys," she smiled at him.
He returned her smile, chuckling softly.
"Plus, you guys have saved my life so many more times than I can count. The least I can do, is understand all of you when you need it," Nefeli nodded, looking away from him.
After a moment, she suddenly let out a frustrated groan, which quickly got his attention.
"But, that still doesn't excuse him for being an asshole! Ugh, he's so stupid! I just want to punch him in his pretty face!" she said loudly, kicking an empty can off the porch.
Once she was finished raging, she just leaned over and dropped her head on to Seonwoo's shoulder. He watched her do this, smiling. He put a hand on her back, rubbing circles into her shirt.
"Yeah, he is an asshole sometimes. And I agree, he shouldn't have gotten so snappy with you like that. You were only trying to look out for him," he said softly.
A heavy sigh left her, as she closed her eyes. "I really am doing my best to see it from his side. And this is probably going to sound selfish. But, what about how I feel? I'm the one who died. Or, so I thought. I want to be understood, too."
"It's not selfish. You deserve to feel upset. You were the one in a coma," Seonwoo said softly.
"So, I'm not dumb for feeling like this?" Nefeli whispered.
"Of course not."
She hoped he was right, and that he wasn't saying it just to make her feel better.
