Chapter 1 - My Usual Day

A/N: This takes place within the same universe as the first y/n book. It's of a different y/n but the preexisting y/n is now just a side character named Melissa. All of the timeline from the previous book are still canon and will happen, but the focus is now on the new y/n and Tristan Swanson. The alternate chapter will be Tristan x Britney just like the alternate ending.

BBBBBBRRRRRRIIIIINNNNNGGGG

I woke up to the sound from my alarm clock. I got up to turn it off. I rubbed the tiredness out of my forest green orbs. As usual, my parents had already left for their demanding duties. During my routine, I went to feed my goldfish with a spoon full of fish treats. I organized my belongings in my messenger bag and went to change out of my nightwear. Unlike other girls, I chose to wear a turtleneck shirt and dress pants with a vest.

After preparing my school supplies and myself, I walked out the house. The school wasn't far, but I'd rather get to the library early to get a few new books and to help out my first period teacher, Mrs. Applebottom.

By the time I arrived at school it was 7am, I showed my school ID at the gate and headed straight for the library. Stepping in quietly, I went to one of the shelves and grabbed an encyclopedia, the fourth edition. Everyday I come into the library to get a new book in my desperate need to learn more. If only that could make my parents notice me for once instead of my older brother. He always got everything he wanted, so much so that he lives in his own house. My parents let him do anything he wants, disregarding his greed and feeding his selfish desires. All I get is the essentials to live and a constant reminder that I will never be better than my brother, just because he is a "man" that will take over my father's business. I have to work hard, be better than him in every way.

I checked out my book and a couple additional stories for entertainment. This time I chose to get Gone With the Wind and the sixth series of the Warrior Cats saga. I've already read Gone With the Wind, but I felt like it and I've been keeping up with the Warrior Cats saga since I was a child. I know it's the one childish thing I will let myself keep with me on my mission to overshadow my brother.

I saw it was 7:15 on my watch, so I quickly dashed to Mrs. Applebottom's classroom, where I saw her just about to unlock the door.

"Oh Y/N you're early again," she gasped. "Well let me unlock the door."

As soon as she tried to open the door, I responded: "Oh no Mrs. Applebottom let me do it." I took the keys from her hand, since she was fumbling with her bag anyways, unlocking the door and holding it open.

"Oh- Thank you, I don't need much help today so you can come in and wait for class to start. Knowing you, this is a great time to read." She said while walking into the biology classroom, I followed her in, putting my bag on my desk.

"Alright I'll be sitting here if you need me ma'am." I said right before sitting down.

"Okayyyyy just do whatever you want then" she sighed as she left the classroom.

I watched as students filed in, disliking the late ones. As I expected, a few of my classmates did in fact show up right before the bell, Melissa and Tristan. I've always suspected that Melissa got bullied on her way here and I do pity her. However, Tristan, Tristan Swanson and his daring unprofessional outfit has no right. I mean, he comes late or right before class everyday, not caring for his academics one bit. I know his brother rides with him to school yet Chris comes in much earlier before him.

Unlike many of the girls at this school, I see his attractiveness, but in no way am I falling for it, I have too much on the line for such an insignificant thing as love and that's that.
