Warning ⚠️⚠️🚨🚨 before I start the chapter I want you to know in this chapter I will be talking about self harm I will give another warning right before but I don't want to trigger anyone thank you.

Y/n's POV
It had been a few weeks now since you and Gareth started dating. Both of your guys's parents knew about you guys dating. You were hanging out at Gareth's house watching a movie when the phone started ringing. His mother answered it and called Gareth into the kitchen. You hadn't heard the conversation but Gareth came back all giddy. "What are you all giddy about?" You asked as he sat back down with you. "My best friend, she lived in your house before she moved, she's coming to visit." You felt a twinge of jealousy. Not that he was excited to see her but that it was a her. All you could think was that she was going to take him from you. "That's great." You said as happily as you could. "I'm excited, she gets to meet the best person in my life, you" he had a big smile on his face and you couldn't resist smiling back. "When is she coming?" You asked feeling slightly nervous. "She'll be here tomorrow." "Alright" you decided to stay so you could meet her when she arrived in the morning. You and Gareth fell asleep of the couch watching a movie after dinner. You woke to the sound of muffled conversation with Gareth not next to you. You stood and stretched walking into the kitchen where your wonderful boyfriend sat with his mother and a young woman and someone who you recognized very well. It was your old best friend she had manipulated you into thinking no one would care for you and she was all you needed. You walked past the table and headed up the stairs. You crawled into Gareth's bed and started to sob. After everything she had done to you, you thought you could escape her, you were so wrong. You heard a soft knock on the door. You knew it was Gareth but you just couldn't answer him. You stood and walked to the door tears still streaming down your face as you opened it. You looked at him and he wrapped his arms around you. "What's wrong sweetheart." You couldn't answer you just cried harder. He picked you up and closed the door setting you down gently on the bed he put one of his hands under your chin and he tilted your head up to look at him. He spoke softly. "Listen sweetheart I understand if you don't want to talk about it but I can't help you if I don't know what's wrong." He was right you knew all he wanted was to help. "The girl with your friend is the problem." You spoke out as best as possible. "Alright baby, how so?" Trigger warning ⚠️🚨⚠️🚨 everyone. You pulled back your shorts a bit so he could she the jagged scars that littered your thighs. "She was my best friend back in my old town." You stopped for a moment wiping your tears away before continuing. He just sat and listened to you. "She was my only friend for the entirety of middle school, she made me think that no one else would ever care about me. Once I started to get more friends and I told them about our friendship and they told me that it wasn't healthy I stopped being friends with her. She started telling people a bunch of things that weren't true and everyone started to hate me no one talked to me I was alone. So I started to self harm mostly on my thighs but not just there." You sniffled slightly gently pulling up the bottom of your shirt showing him more scars littered across your skin. "It was so bad to the point where I ended up in the hospital because I nicked one of my arteries, she ruined my life. I didn't do anything to her and she hates me." Ok trigger warning over ⚠️🚨 "I'm so sorry sweetheart you don't deserve that." "It's ok. I just don't want to talk to her again." "Here come with me I'm going to make her apologize and kick her out." "You don't have to do that." "Yes I do because I love you and no one's allowed to treat you like that." He grabbed your hand and dragged you out of the room and down the stairs. "Jamie, mom, Ava" they all looked at you. "What are they doing here" Ava spoke with a disgusted tone. "Gareth what's going on" his mother asked. Gareth took you around to the other side of the table and sat you both down. "Ava needs to leave after we have a conversation about what Ava did to y/n." You could tell he was angry but not at you. You squeezed his hand. "Y/n is lying" Ava spoke. "Jamie tell him." "I believe Ava" of course Jamie did she's never met you. "What did she tell you Jamie" "About how y/n manipulated her into only be friends with them, and a bunch of other things. How could you believe someone you've know for a few weeks over me?" "Y/n is the best person I know and Ava has already insulted me 6 times and you've been here an hour. So either A she apologizes to y/n and leaves y/n alone forever or B you both leave and I never speak to you again because I will not listen to either of you insult my partner." You couldn't believe it he was defending you no matter what happened. "I guess this is goodbye then Gareth." Jamie got up Ava following behind her. Gareth followed them to the door making sure the left without any trouble. "Gareth you really didn't have to do the for me." "Yes I did sweetheart what kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn't." "What did I do to deserve you?" You smiled softly at him. He walked over to you and hugged you. "You didn't have to do anything at all." He gave the top of your head a kiss. "Let me know if they say anything to you" "I will, thank you so much." "Of course sweetheart now how about a movie." He smiled at you. "Sounds great." You loved him so much especially if he was willing to let go of his best friend for you.
