6 years earlier

Erin was quite a smart kid, and his parents loved everything about him. They spoiled Erin rotten and were very protective of him. Erin had two younger siblings, a boy and a girl, and an older brother. The youngest was Percy, who was 3, the oldest was Lucas, who was 19, and the second youngest was Ivy, who was 4. Ivy was very mischievous, and she liked getting into trouble. She didn't get into trouble to make herself look cool, no, she got herself into trouble because she thought it was fun.

Percy was born with an eye issue and couldn't see clearly without glasses. He was quite an intelligent toddler, though.

Lucas was very nice, and funny. He would always make everyone laugh, and he always helped his siblings with work.

Ivy didn't like Erin because he got what she wanted, which was her parents' attention. Erin would gladly trade places with her, but his parents' just liked Erin more. Besides Erin getting good grades, he was also quite handsome. Erin didn't care about his looks, even though he was complimented about it all the time.

"Oh, hi Erin." Muttered Polly. She had been very calm today, and Erin was careful. He knew she was planning something. Later, when Erin entered the cafeteria for lunch, Polly jumped on him like they were best friends. She hugged him tight, and everyone looked confused. Polly was all smiles, and she kept clinging onto Erin the whole day.

"Erin..." Polly began before they left the school at the end of the day. Erin looked at her to show he was listening, which was a rare occasion, and Polly said something that shocked even Erin.

"Will you be my boyfriend?" Polly looked serious, and Erin uncontrollably started laughing after a while. The whole school was watching, and Polly started blushing with embarrassment. Once Erin stopped laughing, he spoke.

"Sorry buddy, I have standards." With that he left the school, leaving Polly fuming. Erin felt good the rest of the day, until he got home.

"Erin! Erin! Ivy, she's hurt!" Lucas called out, and Erin bolted into the house to see Ivy laying on the floor, unconscious, with her head, hands, and knees covered in blood, along with a smashed window.

"She was messing around, and accidentally fell on the tall window..." His father muttered, and Erin looked terrified.

They went to the hospital, and once Ivy woke up, everyone entered the room.

Ivy looked at Erin with a grin and started crying loudly.

"What's wrong, dear?" Asked their mother.

"Erin! He told me to jump at the window!"
