It was nearly midday now. Dustin and max were still at the video store with Steve and Robin, me and Eddie made it back to the cabin without being seen or found out about, and Nancy wheeler was on her way to the trailer park with her assistant Fred.

Fred:"so what's our game plan?"

Nancy was driving and Fred was sat in the passengers seat.

Nancy:"game plan?"

She locked over at him with a confused expression but focused her eyes mainly on the road.

Fred:"yeah. When you and Jonathan investigated for Hawkins post, did you split up or...?"

One thing to put out there, Jonathan is will Byers, or as many other know him as zombie boy's, older brother. All you need to know was, back in i3, 2 years after I left, Nancy wheeler was dating Steve Harrington. At the time, Steve was an obnoxious douche bag who couldn't decide what the hell was good for him. Well, until he found Nancy. But after they broke each other's hearts, Jonathan was there for Nancy whilst they were in search of will after his disappearance. He was always by her side, and not long after, she realised she'd fallen for Jonathan Byers. However, after the ex chief, jim hooper, was assumed dead after the starcourt mall went to shit and burnt down, will and Jonathan's mom packed up their things and moved out to california. She thought it would be safer for them there, she thought it would be less stressful with a new start. But since Jonathan and will moved to california, Nancy and Jonathan haven't been asked to see each other. Mike had obviously gone to visit them, but Nancy was also hoping that if Mike was going to california, maybe he would come and visit her in hawkins. And after all, they had both applied to the same college too, expecting to get into the same one. But she didn't have much hope in it, as they would were looking for certain individuals with specific grades and tendencies.

Nancy:"well, first of all, you're not Jonathan."

That was obvious. Fred stuck out like a sore thumb in comparison. He had a shaggy haircut, black framed glasses, a scar on his cheek and dorky clothes and back back posture.

Fred:"clearly not. I'm here, present and accountable for."

I mean, before I left Hawkins, I started to see what Nancy was becoming, and I could already imagine what she was like now. I never felt sympathetic for her, because naturally, she put herself in situations that reflected badly on her in the grand scheme of things. But Fred took a step too far on that one. What her relationship status is, is none of his business. Why he mentioned it, I don't know.

Nancy:"I've gone through a lot of managing editors. Okay?"

But just like always, she snapped back. It was the only way she knew how to defend herself verbally. From what I'd seen of her, she'd never been in a physical fight, only ones with verbal confrontation and appalling sayings that just made the other person feel worse about themselves.

Fred:"ooo, somebody's testy. Curious."

He glanced over at her, trying to test her patience so she'd give in and just tell him.

Nancy:"look, I'm annoyed that he's not here. Okay? Is that what you wanted to hear? And yeah, something's going on with him. But guess what, that's not the mystery we're investigating today...a student died. The game plan is for you to let me do the talking, for you to take notes on that little pad there, and for you to follow my lead at all times. Is that understood?"

Fred couldn't get one word in during any of that. It was too direct. Too direct for him to say anything without it just sounding dumb in comparison to her long speech that made him feel like he'd have to wait an eternity for it to be over.

Fred:"totally and completely."

He looked over at her and saluted.

Fred:"shit. Shit. Slow down, slow down."

He caught a glimpse of the cop cars that were parked outside of the trailer park, ensuring the safety of those still living there.

Nancy:"just act casual."

She sighed and readjusted in her seat as she turned into the trailer park.

Fred:"and follow your lead."

He gulped and took a deep breath. The officer stood in front of the car before it could pass through and held up his hand to indicate for them to stop. Nancy wound down the window and smiled up at the officer.

Nancy:"hi, officer."

Her innocent looking face made it harder for the officer to be strict with her, even after seeing her for a second.

Officer:"can't get through. There's a crime scene."

He was direct. Just doing hid job like everyone else.

Nancy:"yeah...uhm, I was just going to...see max Mayfield. A friend. She lives In there."

She remembered that other than Eddie, max was the inky person who lived in the trailer park. And she used her for an excuse as Eddie was being assumed of for murder.

Officer:"we're also restricting access to residents only."

Nancy partially frowned, but then an idea suddenly popped into her head.

Nancy:"it's just, her mom's working today, and we would really like to check in on her."

Fred:"we're basically her nanny. We'll, nannies."

Nancy looked over at him like she was about to murder him. He wasn't suppose to talk, he was suppose to leave that to her.

Officer:"do I know you?"

Fred swallowed the lump in his throat and his heart began to pound.

Fred:"I don't think so."

Officer:"yeah actually, I do know you. Your Fred Benson. You killed that kid last year."

The officers voice got deeper and deeper each time he spoke.

Fred:"what?"

Officer:"that ugly scar on your face. It's from that crash."

It was a part of Fred he had been hiding. A horrific accident with him and his friend mean treating his friend to die, burning in flames in a broken down car, being crushed to death, crawling for his life.

Fred:"it was an accident..."

Officer:"an accident? Is that why you ran all of the way home instead of calling us? Your a murderer. That's what you are. Everyone here knows it. A murderer. A murderer. A murderer."

His voice went so deep that it almost didn't sound human.

Officer:"are you alright there?"

Fred had imagined it all and he snapped back into reality. He daydreamed it.

Fred:"what?"

His voice was shaky and he was more alert than before.

Officer:"I said, you alright, kid? You looked a little peaked."

Fred:"fine. I'm fine."

He shook his head and stared down at the foot of the car floor.

Nancy:"he's just...he's just a little on edge. We all are."

Officer:"look, I'll let you check on your friend, but make it quick."

The officer sighed and signaled them through.

Nancy:"yeah, thank you, Officer."

Nancy rolled her eyes and pushed back into her seat. What was he thinking?
