Dan gave us a Thanksgiving break for those who celebrated. He called us on the Sunday before work that we weren't needed at the studio that week, and to spend the time as we saw fit. I immediately bought a flight back to Florida to spend Thanksgiving with my parents. It was time well spent. I brought one of my bigger suitcases, so I could bring essentials I forgot the first time. Over the past three months, I learned what was needed, and wasn't.
The next few days, I accompanied my parents, sister, and grandma to the store to buy the Thanksgiving essentials. I even picked up some Yakisoba noodles to fill my Korean tastes. Spending at least two days a week with their cooking made me crave it when I didn't have it.
Thanksgiving day we spent cooking, baking, and watching football in my apartment. My cat didn't leave my side the entire time. It was good to get snuggles from her. When dinner was ready, we went around the table saying what we were thankful for this past year. Of course my parents stated such things as family, friends, and health. My sister stated pretty much the same with the addition of her new job. My grandma said her thanks went to having another Thanksgiving with us. When it came to me, I had so much to be thankful for.
"I'm thankful for the opportunity God has given me, and the friends and family who support me. I'm most thankful for the lessons I've learned this year; especially in the last couple months."
We all toasted, and enjoyed the meal.
I flew back on the Saturday after Thanksgiving so I gave myself plenty of time in case something happened with my flight. Thankfully, I made it back with time to spare. I took the rest of Saturday and Sunday to recover from the enormous amounts of food I had inhaled. My mom sent leftovers with me that I carried in a lunch bag on the flight. It would last me at least the rest of the weekend.
I hadn't spoken to any of the guys except for a text I received from them on Thanksgiving day wishing me a Happy Thanksgiving. I knew they didn't celebrate, but I appreciated the thought since they knew I did. I texted Jin when I could, but I knew they were busy, and didn't want to impose. When Monday morning came around, it felt like a stampede was occurring. I was swarmed by all seven of them at once.
"Welcome back, Paige!"
They each took turns giving me hugs. I told them all to wait a minute before heading back to set. I reached into my bag, and I pulled out a giant container of cookies.
"My parents send their regards to my 'coworkers.'"
Jimin snatched the container out of my hand in point-five seconds. I didn't even have time to tell them they were sugar cookies. They all took bites, and moaned in approval.
"감사합니다 (gamsahabnida/thank you)!"
"You're most welcome."
The others ran back to set, and Jin stayed behind. He gave me a quick peck on the cheek.
"How was your trip?"
"It was good," I replied. "It was nice to see my family. How was your time off?"
"It wasn't really time off. We didn't shoot anything, but we still were preparing for upcoming events."
"Well I hope you're not too exhausted," I smirked. "I haven't seen you in almost two weeks." I wrapped my arms around his waist. His head turned on a swivel to see if anyone was watching. When he realized we were alone, he grabbed my face, and started making out with me. He had pushed us into a corner where prying eyes wouldn't see. I missed him. I missed his taste. I dug my tongue deeper wanting more. He pushed back as well. Sadly, our moment ended abruptly after RM came to find Jin. He apologized for the interruption, and quickly ran back to set. I slightly rubbed the wetness from my lips, "I guess we better get to work."
