His Death

"Why? Why? Why is it easy for you to leave me?" she asked while sobbing.

He is just there standing, he doesn't know what to say. He's in pain too.

"Jake! Speak up. Why do you need to leave me?"

"I... I'm really sorry. I need to do this to protect you," he said and started walking away.

"Jake! Wait. No! Jake, wait! D-Don't l-leave me. Jake—"

"Marisa! Marisa, wake up!" With her sister's voice, she woked up. Marisa is tired.

"You're dreaming."

Marisa started crying and slowly hug her sister. "He left me. He left me."

"He left you for a reason," her sister told her. "He saves you."

It was Saturday evening when the incident happened.

Before that, Jake received a message that they will kill her girlfriend, Marisa, if he will not leave her. Aside from that, his family and their business will be at risk too. He was given three days to do it. If he will not, then it will be over. He decided to talk to Marisa and break up with her. However, on that day also. He wouldn't expect that after what he did, he got murdered by those who threatened him.

Marisa couldn't believe of what she have found out during the solving of the case. The murderers was put to jail, same with the mastermind. The mastermind was Marisa's boy best friend since childhood. Well, he was sickly and badly in love with Marisa but didn't have the courage to confess it.

"Stop crying, Marisa. That was almost 3 years ago and you still didn't forget it," her sister said while crying.

Marisa slowly wipes her tears. "I just can't forget him that easily. I feel like I'm the cause of his death."

"No, no. Sshhh. Silence. It's not your fault nor you wished for it. Enough, okay? He's gone and that was to save your life." She smiled.

"I will never forget him. He will always be a part of me."
