It was nighttime around 3:50 am in the junkyard and Cade was sleeping on the couch since he let his friend and teammate take the bed since she has a two year old techno-organic sleeping with her. But on this particular night, Nova Eclipse formerly known as Lucia Jane Witwicky is tossing and turning in her sleep as her face scrunch up in discomfort as her breathing was starting to be erratic. She was having a nightmare.
Nightmare starts...
She was in a black void and nothing more was around her but then she heard something that she feared. The whimpers of fear and helplessness of her and Optimus' sparkling.
Her eyes widened in shock and fear as her baby was being shocked and electrocuted by the Cemetery Wind and Attinger was just watching from the sidelines with a sadistic smile on his face as little Echo Starlight whimpered in pain.
Pure rage and hatred, her motherly instincts and Cybertronian codings went haywire as the will and instincts to protect her child went skyrocket. She started to charge towards the scientist and Attinger and took on her Cybertronian form with her optics a burning red color.
"ATTINGER! RELEASE HER THIS INSTANT!" Lucia yelled in rage.
She continued to charge towards him and was about to take her and Optimus' sparkling back into her arms when something stopped her. She groaned in pain and saw that something was preventing her from reaching her daughter.
She watched helplessly as Echo was crying softly for help. Lucia didn't stop there as she charged up a plasma shot and launched it at the barrier separating her and her daughter.
The plasma shot hit the barrier but there was no damage.
"No damage or even a scratch? No..." Lucia uttered in shock as her eyes started to water.
If she can't get to her daughter, she'll join the Allspark too early! Tears started to well up in her now blue optics as she started begging for Attinger and his scientist to let Echo go.
"Please... please! Just let my daughter go! Have mercy on her!" Lucia begged.
The cries of Echo became louder and louder as it was too much for Lucia to bear as she pounded in the barrier hoping it would break but nothing.
"You can't do this to a child, you bastards!" Lucia shouted in vain and desperation before hearing something that shook her to the core.
"CARRIER!!! SIRE!!!" Echo Starlight cried in agony and pain.
She wants her creators! The mean two legs took her from them and did bad things to her. She just wants her mama and papa with her to make the ouchies go away.
That broke Lucia completely as the helpless cry for help of her baby being tortured or hurt scarred her as she fell on her knees and was begging for her baby to be let go.
"LET HER GO! She's just a baby!" Lucia cried as tears started to roll down her cheeks.
Lucia was starting to cry as she kept banging her fist against the barrier but each hit was getting weaker and weaker as her baby was being tortured.
"She doesn't deserve this pain! Let her go!" Lucia sobbed loudly as her voice wavered.
Lucia started to sob loudly and begged them to let her baby go and to take her instead.
"Just let her go... Please, take me instead... Don't hurt her please... I beg of you... Have mercy on her..." Lucia pleaded weakly.
She would do the same thing to her friends but all she did was hide while watching them get torn to parts. She should have done something. Primus... Anyone...
"Mommy?" An innocent child called out to her from somewhere.
Nightmare ends;
The sudden voice made her gasp as her eyes snapped open as they were glowing in the dark room as she bolted up into a sitting position. She panted heavily as sweat covered her face as she took in her surroundings. She was back in Cade's trailer and in the bed. She gave a shaky breath as she then looked to her side to see Echo.
Echo was looking up to her Carrier in confusion. She woke up a moment ago when she sensed that her mother was distressed. She tilted her head curiously as something wet was falling slowly in her Carrier's eyes. She reached up and touched it curiously as she saw that her Carrier was sad and had tears in her eyes. This confuses her as more tears start to well up in her Carrier's eyes.
"Why are you sad, Mama? Why are you crying?" Echo asked innocently as she gently touched her mother's tears.
Those words and the innocence in Echo's eyes hit Lucia hard as she pulled her baby into a hug and started to weep softly. Echo just looked at her Carrier in confusion but couldn't help and felt sad as well. Lucia continues to sob softly as she continues to hold her baby close.
She knows Attinger is gone and so does Cemetery Wind but she still has nightmares from time to time about the other Autobots that she failed to save. She couldn't take it. She won't be able to take it if Echo suffered or was being harmed. Just remembering her nightmare just makes her cry more as tears continue to fall from her eyes.
Unknown to her, Cade had gotten up when he heard someone crying and was watching silently from the kitchen part of the trailer as Lucia cried in distress. Hound, Drift, Bumblebee, Crosshairs, the baby dinobots and the big Dinobots all sensed their female prime in distress but they all just watched helplessly as Lucia continued to cry.
She just suffered one heck of a nightmare and that was enough to cause her to cry uncontrollably.
Lucia vows she will protect her and Optimus' sparkling until Optimus returns and gets to return home to meet their baby. Echo Starlight. Their light…
