Hyunjin always wanted to be shown that he was loved. In ways that he didn’t have to be so open with words and explain how he felt.
And Felix knew that very well.
In comparison, Felix was great with words of affirmation.
He loved going on tangents about how much they appreciated and loved Hyunjin. From a single eyelash to hsi very tippy toes they’d somehow find the most meticulous words to compliment Hyunjin.
The elder appreciated that a lot, knowing that what he was doing and how he was as a partner was being appreciated and thanked.
It was just hard for him to find the words to say back. To muster that much courage to be able to say things as effortlessly and meaningful as Felix felt impossible.
So he was even more grateful when Felix had started to show their love in ways Hyunjin could reciprocate.
They had said they didn’t mind changing things up, as long as he could show his love that’s all that mattered (always so thoughtful).
They’d make his favorite tea just the way he liked, make his bed when he was too stressed to, would run their fingers through his hair and let him fall asleep in their lap.
And when Hyunjin was in their shared office painting, hands dirty, and mind was so busy that he’d often neglect himself.
He’d be so lost in his own work he wouldn’t notice time passing.
Felix would enter with a knock to let him know the door was being opened with a plate of fruit.
“Here,” they’d say and place the platter down on a spare stool.
Hyunjin would fawn and pucker his lips which were kissed so softly.
“I filled the tub, when you're done hop in,”
it wasn’t a question, it was an order, and Hyunjin would always obey such a sweet command.
Hyunjin wiggled his eyebrows, “Will you be there?”
“Would you like me to be?” he smelled of the softest peaches.
