Hello, my name is Stella Annett, my mom calls me "starling", I'm not totally into the name calling from my mother, but I let her think I'm still young, it's the only thing that makes me believe it's how it was back then. Oh and by the way I'm 16, I just started driving and all I can say so far is I'm not the best at it, that's why I don't go to high-school parties without being drove by someone else, I also don't really ever go to parties, like ever. It's not my vibe, but it's free drinks and food, which I could never resist. My mom always try's to get me to go to little celebrations, not specifically from my high-school or people my age either, she makes me go to these stupid housewives meets, and honestly I'd rather have a sleepover with Millie and Theresa, but my mom says that it's not "usual" to only have a few friends, I haven't been really listening to her opinions since she told my dad the truth of her "close friend" named Ethan, and their history together, it's been 7 months since and she has still not told me anything about it, she acts like it never happened, so I act like her opinions aren't a consideration through my brain. I feel guilty for it but should I?
I throw on my backpack and head into the kitchen for my Nutella-toast that my mom made and put in the fridge, with a note beside it that said,
"I have a surprise for you when you get home. Love you, starling!"
I grin secretly, close the fridge, scarf down my Nutella-toast and run outside waiting for the bus, a few minutes later the noisy bus squeaks at the corner of my street, I hop into the bus and sit down, I feel a set of eyes on me, I knew exactly who it was. Instinct. I turn around,
"Really Chase?" I whisper to him while he calmly sits behind me acting like he's totally innocent.
"Oh, hey. I didn't see you there. How funny?!?" He says seriously.
"Haha. Your so damn funny Chase aren't you ?" I reply slowly morphing my smile into a straight face.
Pause. This is Chase Renan. My current 'lover', were going through an argument, I deny forgiving him for kissing the most popular girl in school, Riley. He doesn't stop claiming that it wasn't his "fault", because he was drunk, but Im not taking that shit as an apology. An apology is stating that your wrong in a incident that was taken place hurting someone else and taking fault, not blaming.
"Thought you would want to see me." He states cheerfully.
"You thought wrong, this is not a break Chase, this is a breakup." There it was, once it came out of my mouth, it felt like a bunch of tight strings were cut by scissors. No tension. I was free of tension.
