Late night ideas lead me to this one. I hope you like it!

There was nothing that woke you up from sleep other than that one recurring nightmare. That recurring dream of everything and everyone you love being devoured before your very eyes. It kept you awake at night just thinking of it and thinking it may someday come true. But tonight was different. Tonight, you didn't just watch them get devoured, in your dream this time, you could feel yourself being slowly eaten away, small pinsirs digging into your skin like tiny moles underground. Gosh, it was awful.

Doc was still working at his desk, as he usually does at this hour. Even during the early hours, Doc works on his science. Even though you knew his work was kind of important, you felt as though you couldn't get through tonight alone.

"Doc?" You whispered, trying not to wake Seamus up.

"Y/n! How nice of you to drop in!" He said happily, but worry spread over his face once he saw the time. "Why aren't you asleep? Are you alright?"

"I... Had a nightmare..." You muttered, a wave of shame engulfing you.

"Oh, y/n, thats alright. There's no need to be ashamed, don't worry. If it's alright, could you tell me what it was about? I think it would help in this matter."

You proceeded to tell your little Zurk dream you keep having to him, still quite shaken from waking up so suddenly.

"Well, that sounds awful. Well, why didn't you tell me before?"

"I was scared you'd tell me I was being childish..."

"What?? Oh, no no no, dear y/n! You are anything but childish and I feel ashamed of myself for making you think that way. Now, how do we solve this...?"

He thought for a moment, but then picked you up bridal style and took you to your bed. When he'd gently placed you down, he walked to the other side and carefully got in. At first it was slightly odd, but he placed his arms around you and pulled you close to him, making you feel infinitely more safe.

"There. Does that make you feel better?" He asked. You nodded slightly in response.

"Well, y/n, I'll stay right here, don't worry. Now, please, try to get some sleep. I can't have my y/n half asleep tomorrow. And if you have that nightmare, just wake me up again, I'll try and help as best as I can."

You nodded sleepily. "Thank you, Doc. I don't know what I'd do without you. Goodnight."

"Goodnight, y/n. Sleep well."
