Chapter 20

After Satomi left, Kayden immediately went to the Shinhwa for Jiwoo's medication. Kayden told them to help him which he didn't usually do. Having Jiwoo on his side and Kayden becoming his teacher, he learns something new to him. To care, to ask for help, and to find someone who he needs to protect and someone who will protect him.

Having an enemy in every corner of the world because of his 'shitty' personality and because he always wants to fight them, he can't find a proper companion who doesn't need anything from him. Everyone who got near him will either use him for his power or expect something from him because he's the strongest

That's the reason why he stayed with Jiwoo instead of leaving him immediately after healing his wounds. Jiwoo doesn't need anything from him. Jiwoo didn't expect anything from him. Jiwoo risks his life so no one can learn about his force control.

Along with Inhyuk and Jiyoung, Kayden was watching the doctor analyzing Jiwoo's body in a room. He already knows how his body is because of Satomi's words. Shinhwa immediately call different organizations just for Jiwoo even though he said that Satomi may bring someone to already help him, but they didn't listen

While he was watching he receive a message from Satomi that she won't be coming with the doctor because there was an emergency or something in GAO. He replied that Shinhwa had already called different organizations for help and after that, he didn't receive any reply from her. It's not that he's not worried but he knows how strong she is. Her words are not for display.

After the doctor analyzed Jiwoo, he repeated what Satomi just said. Hearing Satomi's words about Jiwoo's condition made him mad but having the doctor confirm it and can't do anything made him madder. He's just calming himself now knowing that Jiwoo needs him by his side

"It's good enough that he's alive," Kayden said while his arms were crossed in front of his chest. Inhyuk and Jiyoung were shocked to hear it from Kayden, from Jiwoo's teacher to be exact. "Dying is common for us awakened. It's a good thing that he ended up alive dealing with guys like that" he added

"KAYDEN!"

"Am I wrong?" Inhyuk was looking at Kayden with an emotion I can't read (yes personally), "it's better to let him stay here. He even got caught and thrown away like a used object in a different place without even knowing that he's an awakened one" Kayden was slapping himself through his mind when saying those words. He knows that it was harsh for someone especially when they protect your secret

"Furthermore, Jiwoo has been doing things out of his level. He chose this," Kayden went towards Jiwoo's other side of the bed, "This might be the best thing for Jiwoo," then he looks at Jiwoo's unconscious body, "since living as awakened one would be cruel for someone that's a softie, like him"

Kayden didn't hide the emotion on his face, the guilt, the anger, the sadness, and the pity. Those emotions were visible when Jiyoung saw them.

Jiyoung remembered the dark expression of Kayden who was carrying the wounded and unconscious body of Jiwoo. She was shocked as well seeing Jiwoo's look

Jiyoung who's on the other side of the bed asked Kayden, "did something happen

Kayden turn around and started walking towards the door slowly, "I was originally the target of those who kidnapped Jiwoo. That happened to Jiwoo because they wanted to gain information about me"

Kayden completely left the room. He's blaming himself for what happened

What if he didn't go to Korea?

What if he didn't transform into a cat?

What if he left Jiwoo after he woke up and never come back?

What if he didn't teach him anything?

Kayden went to the rooftop of the hospital. It was raining peacefully, a calm night to be exact. Kayden stands where the roof is and looks around the city that's covered in light. It was beautiful and pretty calmful.

He sighed and got his phone from his pocket before making a call

[Sup, Kayden? Did they heal Jiwoo yet?]

"Their doctor doesn't have an ability to heal him, even his broken bones" Kayden replied and ran his hand through his face due to frustration

[Shoko can and she also said that she needs to see Jiwoo's core first to know if she can fix it] Satomi replied. She was currently in her room that was hidden from everyone in the school because of Sukuna

"Then teleport her here, it's easy"

[It is but no one is allowed to leave Japan for a week because of something] Satomi flip the book she's reading, and Kayden can hear it through the rain, [world rankers were already making their move, we're preparing for it]

Kayden sighed once again, "then Jiwoo will be like that?" Kayden stopped for a moment, "forever?"

[Hmm, not really,] Satomi closes her book and closes her eyes with a smile, [Doctor Delein's awakened ability can possibly heal Jiwoo's arm]

"What?" Kayden was confused, Delein's ability is not for healing, and he knows it, "it can't be"

[And your electric attribute didn't connect on you transforming as a cat] Kayden flinched, getting a glimpse of Satomi's idea, [Delein is a researcher, don't you think he'll research about it?]

"Do you think Delein will just do it for a favor?" Kayden tsked knowing the past between them by threatening him, TWICE

Satomi laughed at the other line that confused Kayden, [Who's Delein's student?]

"Wooin?" Kayden asked confusedly

[And who is Jiwoo to Wooin?]

An imaginary bulb lights at the side of Kayden's head, "Wooin will ask Delein!"

[Bingo!] Satomi snap her finger but her smile dropped, [although Delein can fix Jiwoo's arms, he won't be completely healed and he can't fix Jiwoo's core] she added

"It's fine, as long as he won't be injured that much" Kayden was now calm, knowing that there was still hope for Jiwoo's health

[I suggest you watch it,] Kayden's eyebrow raised, [seeing Shoko healing someone is fascinating, I think it is the same for Delein] Satomi opens her eyes and it is sharp, [be careful, you're one of the important pieces in our plan] and she hung up

Kayden look at his phone and sighed, "I'm careful"

Kayden was cautious, not talking when there was someone around them, not using his power carelessly, and not revealing himself. It is just that Baekdu is so much that he exposed himself; worse, he told them that he's Jiwoo's teacher.

Kayden went down the rooftop to go to the ICU where Jiwoo is. His health is still not good and he didn't receive any treatment yet aside from his minor wounds, because no one in Shinhwa can heal his broken arm

Kayden stayed at the side of Jiwoo's bed while his arm are crossed. He looks at his bruised face, broken arms, and his fingers.

'What an idiot,' Kayden thought after remembering what Jiwoo said to him, 'you should've just told them what they want if this is how you'll end up'

"Kayden"

"You're awake?" Kayden said with a calm voice. He's looking at Jiwoo who barely has any emotion on his face

"The cats... Have they eat-"

"They already did," seeing Jiwoo has a hard time talking, Kayden cut him off and then sighed

Jiwoo closes his eyes and tilt his head in the other direction, "I can't even lift a single finger. I can't move my arms. I thought that if I can use force control, it might help me recover even just a bit, but I can't do that too"

Kayden was silent, just listening to Jiwoo's words. His hand clench his harm harder, "That's because starting from today onwards, you won't be able to use your awakening power properly and it'll still be like that even if you recover. They also told us... that it'll be hard for you to move your arms again and it won't be the same as before"

Jiwoo's eyes widen at the words he heard. Hearing it made him feel the pain all over his body that's covered in anesthesia but ignore all of it, "so that's how it'll be," Jiwoo smiled at shocked Kayden beside his bed, "this wouldn't happen if I was much stronger," Jiwoo then remembered Satomi's plan which he's belong to, "please say Satomi that I'm sorry that I won't be with her during the plan"

The two exchanged a few more words until Jiwoo felt pain all over his body after Kayden told him to recover. Kayden used his ability to make Jiwoo sleep and then went outside the room where Jiyoung and Inhyuk were waiting

"The one who leaked Jiwoo's information," Kayden started while a shadow covered his face. Jiyoung and Inhyuk have a serious look on their faces, "whoever it is. Find them"

After the call, Satomi dialed Kangseok's number

[Satomi?]

"They change the location of the cube, it'll be hard for them to find it" Satomi stood up and started to walk around the room

[That's good] Kangseok nods, [by the way, how's Jiwoo?]

"Jiwoo has broken arms and his core is in pieces"

[You didn't fix it?] Kangseok sat up from his bed

"I didn't, they only know that I can heal myself. If I fix Jiwoo's core, they'll be suspicious of me" she explained and sat on her bed

[But you know who did it right?]

Satomi smiled at his question. Indeed she knows who it is and planned to tell Kayden but knowing him, he'll immediately look into it

"Yep"

Morning came and Satomi's father told them that they'll resume the meeting

"The Europe branch has been attacked," some gasps, furrowed their eyebrows, and slam the table. Kenji raises his hand to silence them which works, "they found out that the prison was in another place"

Satomi flinched and fidget her fingers, 'is this my fault? Did someone hear our conversation? Did Kangseok-no, that's impossible'

"We found out that Suguru Geto, my best friend, leak it"

"I thought he was dead!"

"You're still talking to him?"

"We should've burned his body!"

"So we're going to change its location once again?"

Kenji, once again, raise his hand, "we're now looking for his location and release a shoot to kill order," no one reacted to that statement but it made them calm down, "and we have information about the world rankers full attack" then he looked at Kota

"Whether they have the prison or not," they can feel the temperature drop, "they will attack us"
