November 4
Sirius followed Sadie through the portrait and started to walk to the black lake. He had informed Remus that he would be taking a brief walk but Remus had seemed pretty high so he wasn't quite sure if that message would be passed along. They walked a bit in silence until they got to the lake.
"Is the Black Lake named after your family?", Sadie asked.
"Not that I'm aware of", Sirius responded beginning to lower himself onto the grass that surrounded the water, the amount of liquor he had consumed beginning to catch up with him.
"Get up. I want to swim", Sadie said forcefully.
"Now?", Sirius asked looking up at both the dark night sky and the beautiful witch in front of him. Sadie simply nodded and gently took of her golden necklaces. Then she began to slowly move into the water. Sirius followed her with his eyes until she turned around to look at him.
"Aren't you coming in?", She asked in that ever so innocent tone. Without a single word Sirius got up and began to follow her. He took his shirt off and threw it on the bank (there was no way he was letting that get wet) She had gone only till the water reached her thighs. She reached out and grabbed his hand and kept moving forward. Eventually they got to the point where the water covered around to her chest. However since Sirius was a bit taller it only really went to his lower torso. She stopped walking and turned to him. Sirius saw her eyes glaze ever so slightly and quickly grabbed her, keeping her from dunking into the water. The result of this was both of there noses being mere inches from each other. Since Sirius was holding her waist, their chests were pressed together as well. She jumped and her legs were wrapped around his waist. He moved down so that they were still pretty much submerged by the water.
"Happy Birthday", she said as if she had suddenly remembered that it was in fact his birthday.
"It's not my birthday anymore, love", Sirius said smiling sweetly at her. She rolled her eyes and leaned forward so that they were even closer.
"Shut up"
Sirius leaned closer and gently pressed his lips to her. It was quite a picturesque scene, the two of them kissing partially submerged in the water against the background of the night sky.
Inside the common room Wren's head was spinning. She was entertaining a ridiculously drunk Ravenclaw who was rambling on and on about her older sister who kept stealing her clothes and dates. Whatever it was it didn't bother her much. She was hardly paying attention. She spotted Marlene and excused herself from the 'conversation' with the girl.
"Oi, Mckinnon. Where did Sadie go?", She asked.
"Mmh Dunno. Was talking with Sirius last I saw", Marlene slurred out. Wren nodded. Marlene continued on her way and Remus walked over.
"Heya Wren", He smiled brightly at her. Wren looked up at him. She could tell that he was astonishingly high off his ass.
"Where's Sadie, do you know?"
"Uhhh Sirius was with her. Said something about the black lake? I think. Not sure", he responded squinting trying to remember.
Wren nodded figuring that if Sadie drowned she would find out eventually. She accepted the drink from Remus' outstretched hand. She sniffed it before bringing it to her lips. Goddamn it was strong. Remus looked over her head, which wasn't hard considering how tall he was, and smiled even brighter. Wren turned to see Livvy and James walking over making casual conversation. They both looked sober enough, thank godric.
"Hey. Where's the birthday boy?", Livvy asked, pouting overdramatically.
"Missing in action", Wren sighed. James sent her a understanding smile.
"He tends to do that. Where's Sadie"
Everyone turned to look at the brunette boy in unison.
"Is he really this oblivious?", Livvy loudly whispered to Remus. Remus grinned and nodded. James scoffed before taking a long sip from his drink.
Meanwhile Sadie and Sirius had begun to make their way back towards the party. It was taking them a while because they had to stop every few feet to snog. Sadie giggled as Sirius bent down again.
"Shhhhh. Don't want Filch to come, do you?", he asked, eyes shining with mirth. Sadie leaned up on her tippy toes and kissed him again as a response. He smirked into the kiss clearly very happy with that response. A little giggle erupted nearby from some corridor but the love-sick couple took no notice. The bottom of Sadie's dress as well as Sirius' pants were still wet but were quickly drying. Suddenly Sirius' hand snatched out and gently twisted Sadie's shiny locket back forward. His finger gently grazed her collarbone causing her to shiver slightly as goosebumps raced up her spine.
After what felt like hours, the two finally reached the party again. As the portrait door swung open, the pairs friends descended on them. Livvy passed Sadie a drink with a knowing look on her face. Sadie rolled her eyes and shrugged off her friend's unsaid accusation.
"Where did you two disappear to?", Remus asked.
"We went for a swim", Sirius supplied snatching a drink from a passing person.
"With clothes on?", Wren asked innocently.
"Yes, jesus", Sadie said clearly horrified at Wren's implication.
"Nice neck, Pads", James said, snickering quietly. Sadie turned to look at the boy next to her and for the first time noticed the marks all along his neck. Her eyes widened slightly and she quickly took another sip.
"I have to use the bathroom so if you would just excuse me...", she trailed off vanishing in the crowd. She turned around the corner of the wall that was completely hidden from the rest of the party. A few seconds later she was met with the smirking face of none other than Sirius Black.
"Is my neck really that bad?", he asked.
"It's better than Halloween"
"What's that supposed to mean?", Sirius asked offended. Sadie gave him a level look and he nodded.
"Yeah okay. Now come give the birthday boy a kiss", he said smiling that goddamn smile. Sadie sighed before grabbing him by the back of his neck and giving him a short but passionate kiss. By the time Sirius had opened his eyes again, she was gone. He pressed a hand to his lips trying to remember what her kiss felt like.
She really was good at those disappearing acts.
