After twenty minutes, Yeonjun and I arrived at the Arcade Bar. Yeonjun opened the door to the bar. Then we walked inside the bar. I scanned the room, looking around until my eyes fell on Mingi waving at us. He was sitting by the window near the bar. Once spotting us, he waved a hand at us.
"Hey guys, you finally made it. I ordered for the whole table." He said as we sat down at a booth. Mingi pointed to a bowl of nachos on the table. I watched as Yeonjun grabbed a chip. I giggled as he ate a chunk; he turned to me, quipping an eyebrow at me with the chip in his mouth.
"So Yeonjun, how are you enjoying your first week here at Richmond?" Mingi asked, looking at Yeonjun with a smile. Yeonjun smiled back and said, "I'm having a great time! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming." Mingi nodded and said, "That's great! I'm glad you're feeling at home here." I spoke with a bright smile.
"My friend Wooyoung said everyone in Dr. Tan's class was very impressed by your knowledge of different chemicals and elements," Mingi explained. Yeonjun smiled, dipping a chip into the nachos.
"Well, my mom used to work as a Lab Specialist at the hospital back home," Yeonjun explained. After fifteen minutes, a waitress approached our table, wanting to take our order; after taking our orders, Yeonjun continued, "She was good at her job and was always learning new things. She taught me the importance of hard work and dedication." Yeonjun smiled proudly as he spoke.
Just then, his phone rang. He looked down at it and picked it up. Upon answering, he started talking in an unfamiliar language, and I could not understand everything he said. Based on his tone of voice, it seemed as though he was upset. After the conversation, he put his phone away in his pocket and then turned to look at me and Mingi.
"Everything okay?" Mingi asked, looking at Yeonjun.
"Yeah, that was my Aunt; she just called to check up on me and keep me updated on my mom," Yeonjun answered."You sure. You sounded upset on the phone," Mingi asked.
"My mom has a habit of overworking herself, so my aunt called me to inform me that she passed out at work. So I wanted to make sure she was okay." Yeonjun said.
After a few minutes of chatting and joking, we grabbed some game cards and began playing arcade games. I watched Mingi and Yeonjun play Dance Revolution, which Yeonjun lost. I just smiled and giggled at Yeonjun's reaction. I watched Yeonjun and Mingi wander off to play more games together. I walked back over to the table where we had been sitting previously. I pulled out my phone and checked the time. I glanced at Mingi and Yeonjun, still laughing and joking together. I smiled to myself and went back to my seat, feeling content. Walking back to the table, I reflected on how much fun I had had with them today. I felt lucky to have met and spent the day with them. I looked forward to more moments like this in the future.
After twenty minutes of sitting at the table, my eyes fell on Yeonjun at a nearby claw machine near the bathroom. I giggled, getting up from the table and quickly walking towards him. He concentrated intently, his eyes fixed on the prize he was trying to win.
