time worth sharing-(19)

It was November 19th.

From what I knew, Draco and Mattheo were never going to see eye to eye. So I had to come to terms with that. But the only complicated thing about it was them having to share me. It sounded like I was being used as a piece of property, but they were never going to be able to hang around with each other and be civil about it. And that meant having to share my time.

It was physically exhausting.

If ever the two of them crossed paths, they would make it their mission to intimidate each other with no restraint.

Draco:"hey beautiful, what you doing later?"

I was sitting up at the kitchen counter and he came and leaned up against it opposite to me.

Me:"I've planned to meet Mattheo in the library to study later."

Though I had been busy with school work, overall I think I'd spent more time with Mattheo these past couple of days. But I guess it was just me getting into the habit of being able to talk to him again.

Draco:"oh, so you're spending the day with him again?"

Was that a bad thing? I know he could get jealous sometimes, but it was Mattheo he was talking about.

Me:"look, you two don't like each other and you're making me feel like I'm having to share my time between the two of you. If it bothers you that much, I'll cancel my plans."

I didn't want to have to reschedule everything, but if it meant he was happy, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Mattheo can survive a couple of days without me.

Draco:"Marcy, it's up to you, but I'd like to spend some time alone with you at some point."

And by that, I knew what he meant was that he did want me to cancel my plans to be with him. I rubbed my eyes with my palms and sighed.

Me:"I'll cancel my plans."

I needed to spend some time with Draco. I didn't want him to feel like I cared about other things more than him, and I could see all he wanted was just to spend some time together.

Draco:"you know I don't like him, but that's not why I'm asking you to spend the next couple of days with me. I'm just missing you that's all."

I knew that wasn't the reason. I would never have assumed that he'd tried to pull me away from mattheo. He knows how much they both mean to me. But I need to get my head straight. I'd spent so much time studying that I'd forgotten about the other important things in my life.

Me:"I know, and I'm sorry. I've been caught up in school work and, I guess I just forgot that I need to focus on you as well."

He reached for my hand and carefully rubbed his thumb across my skin.

Draco:"so...what shall we do tomorrow?"

As much as I wanted to help him think of something, we also had classes tomorrow, so it would have to wait until after class. But even then, I had no clue what to say.

Me:"I don't know. You think of something, I've got to go and grab a book from the library for tomorrow."

I needed the potions book for tomorrow's lesson, we were preparing a potion for a practical lesson and I needed to be ready as it was very complicated to make according to Snape.

Draco:"yeah, okay. A surprise then."

From that, I took it as though he already had something in mind for tomorrow. So I wouldn't have to help him figure something out.

Me:"I'll be back shortly."

I hopped off the chair and leaned in to kiss him. But considering the time I'd missed with him, he pulled me in a placed his hands on the side of my face.

Draco:"don't go."

He rested his forehead on mine, I could see now that he had missed me more than I cared to admit to myself.

Me:"I'll be back soon, I'm only getting a library book."

He entangled his arms around my waist and leaned his head on my shoulder. I wrapped my arms around the back of his neck and ran my fingers through the back of his hair. His kisses trailed from my jawline to my neck.

Me:"as much as I want to stay, I've got to go and get this book otherwise I'm 100% going to fail potions tomorrow."

Having to pull away from him seemed so hard to do, but I had to get this book.

Draco:"just don't be gone for ages, okay?"

I delicately kissed his cheeks and walked away from his embrace.

Me:"okay."

*in the library*

Me:"Hi, sorry, do you know where I can find the book of potions?"

Librarian:"oh, yes dear, the middle bookshelf row 3. It should be somewhere around there."

Me:"thank you."

Librarian:"no worries, dear."

A lot of students hated it here. I have no idea why because the library was probably one of the most peaceful parts of the castle.

I made my way to the middle bookshelf and examined the shelves for the book.

Me:"the book of power. The book of punishment. Where is it?"

Pansy:"what are you looking for?"

Me:"oh, um...the book of potions. I need it for class tomorrow."

Pansy:"it's because I've got it. There you go."

Me:"are you sure you don't mind?"

Pansy:"of course not, I was just flicking through it. Hey, you're...Marcy, right?"

Me:"yeah."

Pansy:"I'm pansy. Aren't you..."

Me:"dating Draco, yeah, is that the only label I have now?"

Pansy:"I was going to say, aren't you in my potions class? But I thought I recognized you."

Me:"you're a Slytherin too? It's funny, I don't think I've ever seen you before."

Pansy:"yeah, I disappeared into thin air after getting cat called for 2 years straight. It wasn't exactly how I planned my social life to be destroyed, but what can you do?"

Me:"you can't have met any decent Slytherins then."

Pansy:"no, I haven't."

Me:"number 1 rule to survive Hogwarts. Don't trust Slytherins, trust me."

And a smile appeared on her face like it had been the first time she had done so in a while.
