Taeyong's POV:

How could he have forgotten?

As if you weren't a shitty enough brother, Taeyong.

He really wanted to hate Johnny. All day he'd been feeling good. Nervous, but good. All week, actually, had been looking up. Like slowly, despite the major issues going on with and around him, all the other areas were knitting themselves back together. If the pop quizzes some of his classes had been dropping on them were anything to go by, his grades were one of those other areas. That had been long overdue.

Something had been niggling at the back of his mind, though. He should've paid more attention to it.

He'd willingly allowed his own self-centredness to blind him though.

He was feeling better.

He was getting his life back together.

He was focusing on his music and dancing.

He was surrounding himself with his friends and studies again.

Yes, poor little rich boy.

Once again, he'd made it all about himself.

If the fact that he still hadn't demanded to see Ash hadn't given that selfishness away, then today had.

He'd forgotten. He rifled through his bag until finding Eunkyung's watch and put it on in the Taxi after storming out of Johnny's place.

He'd completely stuttered when Johnny started grilling him.

And he really had wanted to hate the other man for spewing all that bullshit, but he couldn't. Because those implications, some more blatant than others, were all true.

Tomorrow would be three years since his Noona had died. No matter how long had passed, Taeyong couldn't halt the repetitive ruminations that spun like a record.

Why hadn't Eunkyung told him something was wrong? Was he really such a clingy burden that she felt she couldn't confide in her brother?

Of course you were Taeyong. You only ever encouraged her to baby you and never actually gave anything in return. You were meant to be her brother, not let her be your maidservant.

Eunkyung was always too kind. Even after he'd found her...in the car. She'd still made and packed his lunch for school. She would've gone straight to the car after doing that.

Taeyong paid and got out of the taxi, relieved no one was home when he went in and armed the security. He didn't really know what to do, what he was doing here, but he went to his room and shoved all his medication in his bag, remembered the other stuff Kat had given him, took that as well. He also shoved spare clothes in the bag, some snacks, and other random items for no other reason than to stave off thinking.

Liviána would be home soon, and Taeyong didn't want to be anywhere near her right now, let alone look her in the eye. They might have always had their differences, and weren't so close, but when she had already left for the States years prior, Taeyong was the one that was here with his Noona. He was responsible.

His phone had been buzzing on and off, and when he finally checked, there was one from Mark about liking a verse Taeyong had sent, but the rest were from Doyoung. Fuck, he would've been calling about the anniversary.

Taeyong ignored it and turned his phone off. He couldn't deal with that right now. Doyoung had been friends with Eunkyung; it was his loss too. Last thing his Hyung needed was to have to take care of Taeyong's pathetic pity-fest when he himself would be hurting.
