Natasha’s POV

I smiled as I stared at the sketch I just completed. It was of a one-handed evening gown that had a thigh high slit on one side. There was an extra floor length fabric attached at the waist, making it look like a waist cape. However, the cutest thing about it was the tiny bow on one side of the dress. It was sexy and cute at the same time.

I stare at the other two dresses on my worktable.  I tend to be a lot more creative when I’m emotional but honestly, I think everyone is.

I placed the sketches neatly into my bag and Adriana walked into my office just in time.

“Let’s go. I want to go home early today.”

I rolled my eyes at her before grabbing my bag and followed her. We took the elevator to the seventh floor in our sixteenth storey building.
The fashion lab, as we like to call it, was on that floor. Its where all the magic is comes to lab.

Adriana and I were here today to see the new collection that we would be launching in three days’ time. We were going to hold a huge event because we would also be celebrating our company’s seventh year anniversary.

Adriana and I went through the collections, made a few corrections here and there, and removed some outfits we didn’t think were good enough.

By the time we were done, it was already nine in the night. I submitted the three new sketches I made as I felt they were good enough to be the stars of the show, which Adriana and I would be modelling.

After encouraging our team, we headed home. As always, Adriana was driving while I tried to order sushi online.

We arrived at home just in time to meet the delivery guy. I paid for the food while Adriana parked the car.

After taking warm showers, we to eat our food while discussing the theme of the event and other work related matters.

I was dressed in a t-shirt and panties. If you’re worried about Adrian coming in and seeing me like this, don’t be. He isn’t here.

He left a week ago with his goddess of a girlfriend. I wasn’t sure if they were in a relationship but after what I saw, I would be stupid to think they were just friends.

I wouldn’t say I was over him. I mean, it’s been just a week and I’ve had a crush on him for fifteen fucking years.
I still thought about him every night I lay in bed. Sometimes, I tell myself that I wouldn’t cry and other nights, I tell myself that it’s alright to let the tears out.

I haven’t seen Adrian for about a week and still, he managed not to leave my thoughts for a single second. Not when I’m sleeping. Not when I’m working, not even when I’m in the bathroom, where I imagine him joining me in the shower or bathtub and things getting steamy between us, before realising that I have been fantasizing about another lady’s man.

The point is, I don’t think getting over Adrian will be as easy as I thought.

“You are zoning out again.” Adriana complained.

“I’m sorry.” I whispered as I shook my head, trying to clear my head.

“You’re thinking about him again?”

“No.” I lied. “I was just wondering if we should invite Kyle.”

Her eyes widened and she gasped. “Why didn’t I think of that? We could also invite Kaelyn; do you think she would come?”

I nodded as I added their names onto the list of our invites.

“Wait. Did you just try to change the subject?”

I laughed and nodded. She scoffed. “I can’t believe it worked.”

“Of course it did.” I gave her a smug look while taking the last piece of sushi with my chopsticks and placing it in my mouth.

She took one of her chopstick and hit it on my forehead, making me wince in pain, even though it didn’t hurt that much.

We continued to work before deciding to head to bed. I packed all our plates and took them to the kitchen while she packed our files and work stuff.

I grabbed two bottles of water from the fridge before leaving the kitchen.
“Let’s head to bed.” I said as I handed her the bottle of water, which she immediately opened and gulped down.

She must have been thirsty. We both have a bad habit of not drinking water while we eat.

As I was about to enter my room, Adriana called me and said, “If you need to talk, I’m always here for you.”
I smiled softly at her. “I know.”

As I got into bed, I sent Kyle a message, before turning my phone off and drifting into a sleep filled with dreams of one person.

Adrian.
