// Rebekah's POV //
We walked to our table with small smiles on our faces. I had just noticed how beautiful Morgahn was in the restaurants lighting. Her brilliant blue eyes were trained on me as we ordered and waited for our food. Slowly, I watched her hand reach over and grab mine. A soft smile spread across the werewolf's face. It looked like she was about to say something, but the waiter returned with our drinks.
"Thank you," I said before he walked away. I turned back to Morgahn, but she seemed either closed off or confused. Gently, I squeezed her hand.
"You okay?" She looked up at me, eyes now gold. In moments I knew why she was alert.
"There's someone here." Scanning the crowd, I laid eyes on a man sitting a few tables away. Caspian, an old vampire I cut ties with long ago.
"It's alright. Let's just stay calm. He won't cause any issues. Staring at him will only cause him to come over here." I spoke softly, my grip on her hand tightening.
"Okay.. it isn't packed so our food should come out soon. We can just quick eat and leave." I watched her eyes go back to normal as we locked eye contact. Damn I couldn't possible get enough of her eyes they are gorgeous. Wait.. no. Don't think like that. Do not get attached. Bekah you know the consequences.
A little bit later our food came out and we ate in uncomfortable silence, both worried for our own reasons. When the two of us finished I paid the bill and we carefully left. Neither wanting to cause the vampire across the room to look up. Morgahn had been stress drinking, which wasn't something I knew she would do. But- I'm sure she's fine? If she's a bit hung over tomorrow it won't be worse than the headaches she normally woke up with.
// Morgahn's POV //
We were halfway to the car when I froze. Rebekah turned to me confused, til she looked up and saw the beginning of a sunset above. The pain was already starting to settle in.. I could feel that ragged beast trying to break free.
"We.. need to leave. Now." I growled at the amount of pain I was in. Rebekah nodded and rushed me to the car, driving off to the woods. It would have to do.. once we were far enough away we had maybe moments before I would start to turn.
"Leave. Now." Was all I could spit out as I kicked my boots off.
"Morgahn I'm not gonna leave you here alone.. plus I don't have anything to restrain you. I have to stay." Rebekah watched as I started to untie my dress, obviously struggling to hurry.
"No- LEAVE! I don't want to hurt you-" in a matter of seconds Rebekah was behind me, untying it for me. Morgahn. Breathe. You've turned before. Many times. She's just helping you. My thoughts were silenced as the first wave of breaks occurred. Crying in pain, I fell to a knee. A gentle hand rested on my bare shoulder as my dress was fully untied. I didn't waste any time in pulling it off. Rebekah pulled away and turned around as I did. I honestly didn't care I was stripping in front of her. I didn't have time to care. Another wave hit me and I fell to my hands and knees, crying out as my spine and arms broke and reshaped.
Minutes went by of my screams and the cracks of my bones. I could hear Rebekah trying to sooth me, but all I could feel was the pain.
// Rebekah's POV //
As soon as Morgahn had fully turned into the beautiful red wolf she was, she lunged. I wrapped my arms around her neck and pulled her to the ground. Trying to be gentle and not hurt her was useless. The wolf on the outside would do anything to hurt me. I had to make sure she didn't hurt anyone, I knew how much it would destroy her if she did.
Hours of the night went bye of continuous tussling and throwing her down. I knew the night was almost over but I was growing weaker with every bite and scratch I gained. But I had to keep it up. If I let up for just one moment she could be gone. I tightened my grip around her throat, trying to put Morgahn to sleep. If I am successful I can run to the car and get my coat for her when all this is over.
Soft whines were coming from her as I tightened my grip even more and slowly her eyes started to close. As soon as she went limp I sped to the car, grabbing my coat and running back. I was relieved to see her still there.
"..5 a.m. just a few more minutes Morgahn. Then I'll get you back to the room and you can rest. I promise." I spoke calmly, gently stroking her soft head. Now that I could, I took a moment to look at her. Long, soft Auburn fur. A fluffy mane and tail. Quite big when I think about it. Bigger than a lot of werewolves I've seen before.
"Please don't get up and run. Ha.. I don't think I'll be able to move fast enough." I said through the pain as I sat down against a tree. The effects of the bites started to kick in now that my adrenaline had run off. I put a hand to my face and rubbed my eye a bit.
"I'll lay the coat down here.. you'll probably be back to normal soon." I was facing away from her as to not stare or anything when she was back to normal. It was just a waiting game now. One I was willing to play. I could feel the pain drawing me toward sleep, but I needed to be here when she woke up. Not an hour after. I was healing fast, but werewolf bites are extremely fatal to a normal vampire. It would still kill me, but I would wake up later. I had to fight to stay awake.. eventually I couldn't anymore.
