It had been a few hours since the group had gotten together, and they had all stated talking amongst themselves, many conversations going on at one time. Steven and Len seemed to be holding a deep conversation, and Sal looked on with a small frown on his face. He turned away and started talking to Kiara, hoping she had some drama to drown his thoughts in. Luckily she did. "Have you heard about Elizabeth and Hannah? I heard Hannah cheated with Jack!" Sal had genuine shock on his face. "Wait wait, Jack the football player? No way, they have no chemistry together!" "Oh, wait until you hear the full story Sal."
After hearing Kiara do a dramatic re-telling of the Elizabeth and Hannah situation, Sal quieted down his comments and look around at the group. His eyes fell on Steven. No longer conversing with Len, he was sitting in comfortable silence merely looking around the room he'd been in a million times. In that moment, they met eyes and Sal could feel his heart beat a million times a minute. He felt it might burst out of his chest, and it would've, if Steven hadn't looked away and started a conversation with Sydney. Sal tried to keep his composure and find something else to distract himself with. Sydney took notice of the short scene between the two. 'This is going to be a long night,' she thought to herself.
"Hey guys, I have an idea!" The group looked away from their conversations to look at the speaker, Kiara. "How about we play truth or dare?" Everyone seemed a little off-put, not really seeming interested in the idea. But with a bit of convincing, everyone eventually agreed. Kiara seemed pleased with the mutual agreement amongst them. "Alright, I'll start," announced Sydney. "Okay, Sal truth or dare?" Sal made a look of pure hatred, it seemed like Sydney knew what she was doing. "Truth, I guess," he replied, not seeming too fond of being the first choice. "Hmm, is it true that you got drunk at Sarah Lee's sweet 16?" Sal blushed out of embarrassment, but answered the question, "Yes, but that was the only time I've ever been drunk." Sydney laughed and the game went on.
