Izuku was assaulted the moment he walked into class the day school resumed.

Ochako slammed into him like a missile, while Iida was not too far behind, arms chopping in rapid concern as the rest of the class stood and welcomed him back.

"Deku, are you okay? I could see you fighting the villains and you won, but then you screamed and it was horrible and I-"

  "Midoriya, are you alright?"

  "Midoribro, that was insane!"

"Dude, that fight was awesome! You looked super pissed at the end though!"

Katsuki just watched Izuku silently with a strange look on his face.

Izuku rested a hand on Ochako's back, smiling at his friends.

"I'm fine, I'm just glad that everyone's alright."

The door opened behind them, Aizawa Sensei standing with a disgruntled look on his face.

"Get to your seats, I have an announcement." He said.

There was a brief scramble as everyone threw themselves at their desks, during which Izuku and Aizawa's eyes met, the man giving the boy a small nod.

"Your fight isn't over." He said seriously, sending a ripple of fear through the students.

  Aizawa paused for dramatic effect.

"The UA sport's festival is coming up."

A collective sigh of relief gave way to annoyed grumbling that their teacher had misled them again.

"Your heroics classes will mainly become self study sessions so that you can prepare for the festival however you believe you need to. Hero Informatics will remain as they are, only practical Heroics will be changed for the next month. Work hard and your efforts will be reflected in your performance during the festival. Slack off and perform poorly, and you could be moved out of the hero course. This is your only warning."

The class, now used to threats of expulsion, just nodded.

  __________

"Are you sure we should really be going on with the festival?" Ectoplasm asked.

"Security has been heightened around campus already, it will be reinforced even further during the festival itself." Principal Nezu responded, slowly stirring his tea.

  "But what about-"

"I do not believe throwing around unwarranted accusations, especially to a student, will do any good miss Kayama." Nezu chided. "Mr Midoriya has already been looked into by both myself and Detective Tsukauchi, nothing has been found whatsoever to indicate he has had any contact with villains in the past, let alone conspire with them to attack UA."

  "But Aizawa said-"

"That the lead villain and Midoriya knew eachother, yes. Though from his description it seems the boy only recognised the villain towards the end of the incident, and did not seem particularly pleased to see him." Nezu cut All Might off.

"Besides." He said, a wry smile tugging at his inhuman lips. "I have no reason to suspect young Midoriya for anything other than... Well, I'll keep that to myself, though it's nothing criminal I assure you. Quite the opposite in fact!"

The faculty cringed as a few deranged chuckles escaped the mammalian creature, though the skeletal form of All Might still did not seem convinced.

"Now, as for the Festival, I believe we should change a few things here and there..."

__________

Izuku stopped writing his notes as the bell rang, Cementoss looking up from the textbook with a smile.

"That seems to be all the time we have today." The stone man rumbled. "Once you've packed away your things you may head to lunch."

The hero stood and gathered his teaching materials before giving a short bow to the class, leaving the room rather quickly for his bulky concrete body.

Izuku raised an eyebrow as the teacher left, knowing exactly what was about to happen.

  Does this happen every year?

Seems like the blocky bugger knew about it.

Izuku agreed internally, putting his pencils away and slotting his notebook neatly into his bag. The greenette moved towards the door alongside the rest of the class, the only one knowing what waited outside.

Mineta opened the door and shrieked, almost falling backwards.

"Who're you? What do you want??" He screamed, waving his arms about.

"Don't you know you're blocking the door?!" Iida exclaimed, chopping his arms in time with Mineta's flailing.

"They're here to check out the competition dumbass." Katsuki said, shoving past Iida to stand in the doorway. "Here to see what a real hero looks like Extras?"

"I came to see what all the fuss was about, but all I see are a bunch of arrogant assholes like this one." A familiar tired voice drawled, purple hair pushing to the front of the crowd outside 1A. "Are you sure you guys fought a bunch of villains?"

"Don't think you're all high and mighty just because you've beaten a few villains!" Monoma took his chance to interject, pushing his way to stand beside Shinso facing the class. "Us in 1B are superior to you glory hogs, and we'll prove it!"

Izuku narrowed his eyes slightly. He'd been a bit preoccupied worrying about Katsuki to really listen to what was being said last time, but now...

"But of course!" Izuku said in a faux cheery tone, his warm smile flashing to the crowd. He stopped beside Ochako, who looked very unnerved.  Now that he thought about it, most of his classmates seemed quite disturbed and were glancing in his direction.

Ah, he wasn't using his warm smile at all was he?

"The first thing we did was go to the Media and tell them all about our exploits, right Ochako?" He asked cheerily, not noticing his use of her given name. "My friends and classmates were attacked with intent to kill, my teacher was almost maimed beyond repair, but the first thing, the first thing I did was go and talk myself up!"

Izuku's smile vanished, leaving his face frighteningly blank. However scary his expression had been before, this was much worse.

"Use those brains of yours before approaching a group of possibly traumatized children and exclaiming about how lucky they were to be attacked by scum." The greenette spat, the air filling with a faint hum as he leaned towards the two boys.

"I accept your Declarations of War Monoma Neito, Shinso Hitoshi. Copy and Brainwashing may be useful against most opponents.. but my quirk is a stockpiling type, and gives me immunity to all mental influence. I hope you've been training more than just your egos."

Both teens had turned white as a sheet. Using their full names and quirks would do that. He hoped he hadn't traumatised them, they were nice enough in the future.

Izuku brushed past them, the crowd of teenagers parting like the red sea.

"I'll see you in the festival."
