MAYA'S POV

"But what if you guys end up like, you know, falling for each other?"

"Oh Lola Lola Lola" I tut "I don't fall that easily, and most definitely not for people like Mason"

"Whatever you say" she teases.

"I'm just having some fun I swear"

"Ok ok" she waves her hands in defence "just be careful ok?"

"Of course my love" i say before getting up from my chair and kissing her cheek "going to biology now, I'll see you later "

"Bye!" She beams as i head out of the food hall.

I haven't seen Mason since Monday night, which has given me some time to think, to come up with new ideas.

I walk into class surprised to see him already sat at his seat at the lab bench.

"You're early" I pry

"So are you" he answers in a similar tone

"You ready for the quiz?" I ask as I sit down

"So ready" he responds keeping his eyes forward.

I smirk a little, he couldn't hide his nerves if he tried.

A few minutes later the classroom fills and Mr Evans walks in and begins handing out the quiz.

Functions of cell organelles. Easy.

I speed my way through the quiz and spend the remaining five minutes day dreaming, i glimpse over to Mason who appears to be doing the same, his arm covering his quiz paper.

When the time is up, Mr Evans begins collecting in our answers.

"I'm going to mark these and get them back to you at the end of class, now can you turn your attention to the activity on the board"

"Hey" i whisper to mason "we on for tonight?"

His dark eyes meet mine.

"Yeah if that's ok?"

"Perfect. can we do it in your room tonight?" I ask

Mason tightens his hand into a fist

"Yeah that's fine" he finally answers.

Class goes by pretty quickly and before we leave, Mr Evans begins handing back our quiz answers.

He places the paper in front of me, a big green "100%" written at the top. "Amazing work Miss James" he says

"Thank you" i smile

"And amazing work from you too Mason, nice to see such an immediate improvement from tutoring" he says before walking away.

I look over to Mason's paper

"90%"

I look at his face and I can't help but smile at how proud of himself he looks.

"I'm impressed" i say as I begin to pack my stuff up, Mason is already ready to leave.

"I have a good teacher" he responds, winking at me before turning and walking out of the room.
