And just like that, the week went by like a flash.
Jaeyun and I met up sometimes in the library just to chill or study. Honestly, it was always him who begged me to hang out with him but I couldn't seem to escape his presence.
Throughout the week, the unknown number was sending me more and more messages.
At first I thought it was just a silly one-time thing but it turned out that the person had no life and responsibilities to take care of.
Unknown
Unknown: I see you.
october 3rd, 3:41 PM ✔︎ ✔︎
Unknown: You seem lonely.
october 4th, 1:01 PM ✔︎ ✔︎
Unknown: Should I approach you?
october 5th, 5:59 PM ✔︎ ✔︎
Unknown: You tried to block me?
october 6th, 10:22 AM ✔︎ ✔︎Currently, I was waiting in my dorm for another message of the unknown number. I got back from dinner before and now staring at my phone, I found it weird that the person stopped contacting me even though it probably was the best that way.
Of course, I tried to block them but no matter who many times I tried it, it didn't work out and I was slowly starting to become crazy.
I was so happy that I finished all of my assignments and now there was nothing standing between me and the break that was about to occur.
I thought.
Of course then, I received the long awaited message from that unknown number.
Unknown
Unknown: Open the door.
october 7th, 10:29 PM ✔︎ ✔︎What? I sat there, my heart beating like crazy while I could do nothing but freeze.
Should I open the door?
In case it was a murderer, I could just scream and my dorm mates would definitely hear and help me.
I decided to get a knife from my kitchen and slid it under my sleeve so that I could imperceptibly stab the person in case I needed to.
I turned my lights off and slowly walked to my door without making any noise but with a beating heart that was about to explode at any second.
I approached the door and started touching the door handle. Oh God, I don't think I can do this.
No, you can do this, Yera. There's nothing to be scared of. I decided to gather all my courage and open the door.
As I was screaming while opening it completely, shutting my eyes tight and trying to defend myself with my hands, I grabbed the knife that was hidden in my sleeve.
Suddenly, I felt myself getting pushed back into my dorm and my back meeting the wall as someone was pressing me on it.
"Don't hurt me, get away," I yelled, not being able to see who it was due to the darkness that was reigning in the room.
"What the fuck? What happened to you?" I heard a familiar voice asking me with a puzzled tone.
My eyes started adjusting to the darkness and I finally saw who was pinning me against the wall.
"Jaeyun?" my eyes widened in surprise.
In no time, I took him in my embrace and hugged him tightly.
"I thought I was gonna-"
"Mind explaining why you wanted to stab me with a knife?" he held the knife up to demonstrate it.
"I- I thought there was- I got a message- Oh my God," I misspoke in frustration.
"A message? Do you mean the one which said "Open the door"?" Jaeyun questioned confusingly.
"Yes- Wait, how do you know?" I pushed him back and stared at him with deadly eyes.
"Well, you know... That was me," he shrugged.
I couldn't believe my ears, my eyes and any other organs inside of my body that witnessed this.
"You- That was you?!" I screamed at him.
"Of course, who else? Did you think you had a stalker?" he laughed.
"How can you laugh in this situation? I was genuinely scared," I spoke in a serious tone.
"Why were you scared? I just texted you to meet me outside," he defended.
"If "Open the door" from an UNKNOWN NUMBER means "Let's meet up outside😊" from SIM JAKE then you don't have to act shocked if I get fucking scared!" I emphasized.
"I think you're overreacting," he shrugged once again and was about to close the door of my dorm.
Suddenly, we heard someone talking from the other side of the door.
"Excuse me," she spoke up.
That's the girl who lives next to me, I wonder what she wants.
"Yeah?" I questioned cluelessly while shoving Jaeyun aside.
"I heard someone yell and I thought something bad was happening," she started.
"But I guess it was just you two having a fun time," she continued uncomfortably.
"What... No!" I immediately defended with my hands gesturing her she was in the wrong.
"That absolutely wasn't the case, you have to-"
"I know, I got you, girl. Don't worry, I won't snitch," she winked at me while smirking.
"I cannot believe this," I uttered while my fingers found their place on the bridge of my nose.
"Anyway, you guys have fun. But don't be too loud, I'm sure the others here also heard it," she mentioned.
"We won't be loud, I apologize. I won't go so hard on her anymore," Jaeyun spoke up from behind me while nervously chuckling.
As the girl left while laughing, I closed the door and glided down on the floor.
"God, this is so embarrassing. Of course this could only happen to me," I put my head in my hands.
"Come on, it's not that bad. She just told me not to scare you anymore. I don't understand how that's a big deal," he bent down to my level, trying to cheer me up.
"Are you serious?" I asked him confused.
"Do you even know what she was implying to?" I raised my eyebrow.
"Huh?"
"She thought that we... We... You know," I started to become nervous.
"Oh- OHH!" he started to panic.
"Shut up! You're not making this situation any better with your moaning!" I put my hand on his mouth.
"What! I wasn't moaning! Why would she even think of this in the first place?!" his cheeks turned a rosy color.
