A/N: Honestly I think I like writing in just (Y/N) POV better than switching, probably will stick to that.~~~
Checking with everyone beforehand, we dispersed. I really hoped this plan would work, because we only had a matter of time before Eugene was... I would really rather not think about it. The plan would work. It had to work. After getting the guys from the Snuggly Duckling together and sneaking into the palace, I was able to change into an outfit that was easier to move in. What mattered was that I had pants, rather than the stuffy skirts I was previously wearing. I kept going over the plan in my head, mostly to keep the fact that I had no idea where Rapunzel was out of my mind. Sneaking around outside, I heard a commotion. It was coming from one of the grates from the cell windows. I could hear Eugene's voice yelling. Running over and looking through, I could see that he was being escorted outside the cell.
It seemed that he was yelling at the ones in the cell, which meant he was really close to the very location we were keeping him from going. Looking around to make sure the coast was clear, I went to alert everyone that it was time. Once I did that, I made my way up to where Max was waiting. It seemed I made it just in time, because Hook Hand was getting Eugene ready for the catapult. I helped Max position just right, and watched as Eugene was flung up to us. Putting up my hood, I readied myself for when he landed. Just as I had predicted, he landed perfectly on Max's back.
"Max? Kid? You guys brought them here?"
"It's (Y/N), thanks. And yeah, I couldn't just let you die." I hopped onto Max behind Eugene and kept looked around when he started rambling.
"Thank you. No, really. Thank you. I feel maybe this whole time, we've just been misunderstanding one another, and we're really just-" He realized Max was glaring at him and stopped.
"Yeah! You're right, we should go." I rolled my eyes, and held tightly onto Eugene's torso so I didn't fall off. I knew we were about to go fast. As guards started flooding the top of the castle walls, Max bolted. Eugene was understandably concerned when he saw we were coming up on a dead end.
I kicked his leg. "Dude! Do you want to get to Rapunzel fast or not?" Despite my comment, he screamed as Max jumped onto a house roof. When we were back on the ground, he got his composure back.
"Okay, Max. Let's see how fast you can run." And so we were off. Max seemed to know where he was going, assumingly to the tower Rapunzel mentioned before. We practically flew through the woods and past a wall of hanging vines to reveal a tall brick tower. Eugene immediately got off of Max and ran up to it. "Rapunzel? Rapunzel, let down your hair!" There was no response. He rushed to start climbing the tower by hand, when suddenly her long hair was thrown out the window. I had a bad feeling, but Eugene immediately grabbed it. "(Y/N), you stay here. If I'm not out with her in 20 minutes, find a way up."
"You want me to give you 20 whole minutes?!" But he was already climbing. I sighed, and decided to do as he said. I watched as he made it to the top of the tower, when suddenly I was hit with a headache. It was the same as the one by the lake before Rapunzel had healed Eugene. Feeling dizzy afterwards, I sat down. I needed to regain my composure, or I wouldn't be help to anyone. Max comforted me, and we waited for Eugene together. Suddenly, a person in a dark cloak fell from the tower. They reached the ground with a thump, and turned to dust. I looked to Max, and ran to find a way up the tower. I tried my best to climb it with my hands, but it didn't work. Rushing around the back, the rocks were completely caved in to reveal a staircase. Running up, I opened a hatch to reveal Rapunzel with short brown hair holding Eugene in her arms. As I started to climb up, her tear fell on him. Then, I saw the bright golden flower from my vision. When it happened, my runes and hair glowed. It filled the room with a warm light, and it was gone almost as soon as it had formed.
When it disappeared, I fully climbed into the room and ran over to Rapunzel. I hugged her tightly as she still held Eugene in her arms. I backed up when I saw him opening his eyes.
"Rapunzel?" She gasped.
"Eugene?"
"Did I ever tell you I've got a thing for brunettes?" Wow. I'm actually no longer happy about his return. Kidding. Kind of. Rapunzel, however, laughed and hugged him tightly. I picked up Pascal as she pulled Eugene into a kiss. When they were done, I helped them both up from the floor.
I hugged Rapunzel again, before saying, "Let's go home, Rapunzel." She nods, beaming.
We all leave the tower and make our way back to the castle, with me having to walk since we only brought one horse. I didn't mind letting Eugene and Rapunzel sit together. The danger was gone, so what was the big rush anyway? The castle wasn't even terribly too far, and when we made it back, I actually went in through the front gates for once. When we explained who Rapunzel was, the guards immediately ran off to get my parents.
Eugene and I reassured her that they would love her, as she was understandably nervous. Finally, my parents threw the doors open. I led Rapunzel over to them. We ended up all hugging, and my mom also brought Eugene into the hug. (He was mostly responsible for killing Gothel, after all.) The kingdom of Corona ended up throwing a party to commemorate her return, which I like to think was also a late birthday party, since she probably didn't have one with Gothel. We danced a lot, and Rapunzel even started teaching me how to paint! It was a blast, and I was so glad to have my sister back. And honestly? I thought the brown hair suited her. Kinda made me miss not having powers.
Unfortunately, Cass was no longer working as a handmaiden for me. Fortunately, she was assigned as Rapunzel's main handmaiden! So we still get to see each other all the time. And Cass can still teach me more self defense. And, if you were wondering, Eugene and Rapunzel DO get married! Eventually. But we weren't at all prepared for what would happen before that. Because our story was barely beginning.

I hope you enjoyed so far! As I said before, Tangled Ever After will also be in this book and the show will be it's own book since it'll probably be super long! More about how the second book will be formatted after Tangled Ever After is done, I hope you like the story :)
