Maya's POV :

Just when I put my phone down, I heard the doors of the aid car opening. Andy raised her head and looked at me.

"Maya ? Are you okay ?"

"Y-yes I- I'm fine." I said staring at Bianca, covered in blood, laying on a gurney. "You were ab- able to t- take her out ?" I asked stuttering.

"Yes captain. She's stable for now but we need to take her to the hospital because she's still losing blood. Oh and when you call Grey-Sloan, make sure they know she has POTS. She has a medical alert bracelet on her left wrist." Travis completed.

How didn't I noticed it before ? I had her wrist in my hand when I took her pulse...

"Maya, you were holding her other hand." Said Andy, like she had been reading my mind. "You don't look good. What is happening ?" She asked me as Travis was still trying to stop Bianca's bleeding while Ben started driving the aid car.

"I- I don't know. There is something with this girl that I c- can't explain. Andy, I've never felt like that for a civilian. Or for a child !"

"Come on Maya, yes I never saw you like this on a call. But it's okay, Bianca's gonna be fine. Is Carina meeting us at the hospital ?"

I nodded, and when I raised my eyes to look at Bianca, I realized her eyes were fluttering open.

"I think she's waking up." I said to my friends.

"Bianca, can you hear me ?" Andy asked her and suddenly her eyes flew wide open and she bent over, holding her stomach. I instinctively took her hands in mine, not bothered by the blood.

"Hey hey hey, Bianca look at me, it's Maya, the first firefighter you met today. Do you remember me ?"

The young girl nodded.

"I'm here okay ? You see, I'm still here. I didn't go anywhere." I tried to reassure her, but she was still hyperventilating a little, and we arrived at Grey-Sloan Memorial. The doors flew open and we were met by Carina, Miranda Bailey and a third doctor I didn't know.

"Bishop talk to me." Said Bailey.

"12 years old female, was stuck for we don't know how much time under a tree and was accidentally cut by the saw on her stomach. Active bleeding. And she has a POTS medical alert bracelet." I explained.

"Okay let's roll !" She answered, talking to the other doctor.

Carina stayed while they rolled Bianca inside.

"Carina, please go with her she is panicking !"

"Bellina, I'll go in one minute but first I want to make sure you're okay."

"I'm fine, but she isn't. Please help her." I cried, putting my hands on my head.

"Right now she is with Bailey and the best peds doctor we have."

"I don't know her." I stated, talking about the third doctor I saw when we arrived.

"It's Arizona Robbins. She's the best pediatrician I know, it's her field treating kids."

"Okay but please Carina go, please go help her." I said desperately.

"Okay, I'm on my way." Carina responded before kissing my lips and running inside.

I remained alone, in front of the ER when Andy called for me.

"Captain, you're coming ?" She asked from the aid car, as they were ready to come back to the station. "We need to go, there will be other calls, the storm is coming back."

I sighed and tried to breathe as I looked between the truck and the ER. It was like a dilemma between my job, my career and a potential family I was creating. And I even surprised myself when I turned to Andy and screamed : "You can go without me, I'll join you later !"

And I ran inside the pit, looking for my wife and the sweet little girl I just met.
