INDIYAH
I take a deep breath and knock on the door, I was expecting Anya to greet me at the door but I'm greeted with silence and a closed door.
"Alright, nobody's here..." I muttered to myself.
I fumbled with the key a little before it finally opened and revealed a grand room. The room had three queen sized beds on different parts of the room, I'm guessing with space to decorate.
There was a large vanity in the middle, and a small lounge area with a TV and fireplace. Then lastly, there was a rusty old study desk with a large bookshelf behind it.
I wander around the room a few times, and even call my mother to show her the extravagance of it all.
I turn on music and decide to jump around the bed, which is bouncy and far more comfortable than my worn out mattress.
The loud volume of the music probably drowned out the sound of the door opening though, just as I was going to belt out the last note my eyes met two amused set of eyes.
Anya laughed and entered the room, dragging another girl behind her, "As much as I loved this performance, we have a party to get ready for"
"We? Oui? I don't speak French..." I trailed off.
"Come onnnnnn, I have a nice, pretty dress waiting in my shopping bag for you."
I looked down at her hands, and it was accessorized with a bunch of shopping bags, followed by more bags held by the girl trailing her. The girl meets my eyes with a bored expression, the same bored expression that I was met with earlier by a certain someone.
The resemblance is uncanny.
She briskly walks to Anya's bed and drops the bag. Then she walks out the room again with what seems to be her dress.
Anya sighed and plopped on my bed, "Don't pay her any attention, she's more fun when she's drunk."
I laughed and replied, "Speaking of drunk, the party, whose party is it and what kind of people are going to be there."
She puts on a thoughtful face, "Well, we have Seb, the host of the party. He's super nice, and he's very thoughtful, and a good listener..." Her face reddens as she goes off into whatever image in her head.
"Okay then..." I awkwardly laugh, "What about Mr. 'I'm so cool and I know everything' from earlier?"
She focuses her attention on me again and puts on a serious face, "Oh, Atlas! he's an evil gang leader that hides as a rich, snobby, private school kid in secret."
"Wait! Really?"
"No, he's just very secluded, other than our inner circle he doesn't like interacting with others unless he has to."
Probably explains why he looked so excited to help me find my footing at this unfamiliar school. I sit up and check the time on my phone, "When does this party start?"
"Oh it starts..."
"In thirty minutes, shit!"

We get out of the car, and I tug on the bottom hem of the coat I stole from the back of my mother's closet and interlock my arm with Anya's. The front of the house has this big fountain in the middle of it, and there's already some beer cups lining the edge.
The music is blaring loud enough to hear just from being a few feet away. I take a deep breath, and compose myself, prepared to walk in with confidence. When someone shoves past Anya and grabs onto me...
Vomits all over my coat, nice.
I paint on a pained look, glaring over at Anya's current hysterical fit. "It was like a zombie attack," she hiccups with laughter, "but with barf!"
"How old are you? Nine?"
Taking off the coat, she grabs it for me and rushes in the house with a loud, "Seb! Can you get Simon to clean this?"
Followed by a loud, "Anya, clean your own shit!"
I let out a small laugh and slowly enter the house.
"Hey, hey, hey! Varma," a rather golden retriever looking boy excitedly shouts out while running to swoop her into a big hug. I shot her a pointed look, she doesn't seem like the type to have such a ditzy boyfriend. She catches onto the look and just sighs, as to hint she's going to explain later.
But apparently, she wasn't the only one to catch onto my look. He then turns to look at me, "And new girl!," he takes my hand and gives it a firm shake, "Sebastian Xanders at your service, I'm the host of this delightful party and I really hope I don't disappoint!" he then does a mocking pout, "Seriously, wouldn't want that disappointment getting me busted with the headmaster."
I let out a light chuckle, "New girl's name is Indiyah, and don't worry even if it was disappointing, I don't want my first ever party to be crashed by my grandfather." He flashes me the most radiating smile ever, I mean this boy is the sun himself, he then rubs Anya's head and jogs off to the drinks stand.
"HEY, the keg stand is not meant to shoot beer up your ass. GET- GET DOWN FROM THERE."
Oh okay then. Weird.
As much as I wanted to trail Anya for the rest of our school year, I mean the rest of the party, I maybe have to branch out a little...try to even make friends?
I go to what seems like a crowded area with everyone playing games, on the ground I see two familiar faces that seems to be playing a weird ritual like game with an expensive looking friend group. One face seems to be intensely staring me down the most- is it getting hot in here or is it just me?
