《 I'd rather be a lover than a fighter 'Cause all my life, I've been fighting 》
~♡~
The lights were on.
The three boys were seated on the floor in a triangle, the cake placed in the middle and Donghyuck playing with the rose petals as they kept talking. Mark looked back and forth between the two. Two equally beautiful best friends.
"Met Jeno on my way to the castle." Renjun explained, decently eating a piece of cake. Well, his fifth piece of the cake. "He said yall would be here. But he didn't mention about this event."
"Well.... its not a big event." Donghyuck said with a dreamy smile, circling the glass in his hand. "I actually forgot this one."
"Hah!" Mark snapped his fingers. "I knew you didn't remember. That's why you were so surprised."
Mission successful. He felt quite proud of himself. For once he managed to overpower his boyfriend.
Renjun let out a gasp. "Mark hyung was the one who planned this? All these stuff? I must be in a dream."
"Right?" The younger Lee agreed. "He's trying so hard."
"He can keep trying but he'd never be Lee Jeno." Renjun joined the teasing party.
Donghyuck almost snorted. "Never!"
Mark rolled his eyes, thinking about his annoying 'brother'. People just loved to bring up Jeno and his great sense of romance everywhere Mark went.
He considered Jeno's existence as a personal attack.
Even his own boyfriend praised Jeno more than him.
Unacceptable.
Good thing he loved Donghyuck with his whole heart.
"Alright, enough with the teasing." Mark ruined their fun, lifting up his glass. "Let's just forget about others and celebrate this moment."
"Oh yeah, right, I forgot." Renjun pretended to hold a glass, instead a spoon in his hand. "Congratulations or whatever!"
"No, you idiot." Mark shook his head with a giggle. "We are celebrating your return."
"We missed you Jun!" Donghyuck said as loud as he could, making the other two crack up.
"Well, then.... for me!" Renjun cleared his throat. "I'm fabulous!"
"Yes you are!" came another supportive statement from Donghyuck.
The couple gulped down their drink in one go while Renjun did justice to another piece of cake. Mark wondered how Renjun could eat that much sweets. Personally, he didn't know anyone who loved cake more than Huang Renjun.
On the other hand Donghyuck was getting high on his drink. That too, Mark didn't know anyone who could get drunk by two glasses of wine. He could see his boy already having red cheeks and drowsy eyes.
"Sunshine, that's enough for today, okay?" he warned as gently as he could, taking the wine glass out of Donghyuck's hands.
"Aw," Donghyuck made a confused pout, easily giving up on the glass without his will. "But--"
"I don't want to confront my parents for getting you drunk again. Last time it didn't go well, remember?"
"That can't stop me cause I can't hear." Donghyuck said with a forced out smile, eventually snatching Mark's glass instead.
"Hyuck-"
"I can't hear you, sorry." the other said with a head tilt.
Mark let out a tired sigh, shaking his head. He caught Renjun staring at them with a smile of disgust and love.
"He's so insufferable." Renjun added, pointing his head at the ridiculously drunk male who now happened to have two rose petals inside his mouth. "You sure you want him?"
Mark chuckled, nevertheless nodding his head. Renjun too laughed at last, filling the room with his soft giggles. But no one spoke a word.
The place was owned by one of his 'friends'. He got it free of charge, along with every decoration. Times like that Mark really loved how much power he had.
It was around nine in the night when Donghyuck decided it was a good idea to drop his head on Renjun's lap, fading off to a quick nap.
Mark watched the scene, yet again his heart being so full of love and light.
He loved Donghyuck so much.
So much to the point where he could not imagine a life without him. He'd die. He wouldn't dare to breath in a world where Lee Donghyuck didn't exist.
"You're whipped, do you know that?" Renjun started the conversation.
"Huh?" Mark came out of his trance.
"You're so in love with him. It's disgusting, actually."
"Can you blame me though?" Mark asked, again his eyes fixing on the sleeping sun.
"Not really." Renjun said in a tone Mark couldn't describe.
He looked up at the younger to catch his expressions but he couldn't. He could only see a small smile as Renjun awkwardly ran his fingers through Donghyuck's hair. The said Lee hummed something and snuggled more closer to Renjun.
Beautiful, Mark thought.
"How have you been, Renjun?" After few seconds, Mark asked for a change. "Mom and dad all fine?"
Renjun looked up and shot a blank look at the older. Then went back to stare at the rose petals on his sides.
"Yeah, they're fine."
"Good." Mark nodded even though he didn't believe that answer. "What about you? It's been two years since we last saw you."
For a second Mark thought he asked the wrong question. Renjun seemed unfazed of course, but Mark noticed how the younger abruptly put his hand under his right ear.
