Season 2 - Chapter 5: What Did Tari Touch That Would Do That?

Sorry I haven't been updating the story much, I've been busy with other things at the moment. Anyways, enjoy!

Back at home, Lucas and Tari were unpacking from their trip.

"Hey, where do you want this?" Lucas asked Tari, raising the 7-inch, titanium blade knife she purchased.

"I'll take care of that later. But what do you want to do after we're done with all of this?" Tari replied.

"I guess just stay at home, play some games," Lucas said, taking his shoes off.

"Ok," Tari simply replied, plugging her phone into backup some pictures.

Now that they were packed up, Tari plopped down on the bed.

"So, that was a nice Christmas vacation," Lucas told Tari.

"It was," she simply replied. "Where are you going with this?"

"I dunno. But ever since you got sent flying backward from that thing in the cave, I just feel like there's something different about you."

"Yeah... I've felt... different... at times."

"Can you describe how you've felt different?"

"You're starting to sound like a therapist."

"Eh, true."

"But since you asked, I've just felt a lot stronger at times, and I swear it's like whenever I look at my phone the battery just jumps up a tiny bit."

"I've never heard anything like that before... weird."

Sitting down on the bed alongside Tari, Lucas remembered something she had said earlier.

"I feel like I want to become a mom, but not in that kind of way. Just like, adopt a kid." The thought kept replaying in Lucas' mind on repeat.

"Hey Tari, you know how you said you wanted to become a mom?" Lucas said.

"Yeah, why?" she replied.

"What did you mean by 'not in that kind of way' while we were talking about it?"

"You know... how do I describe it?"

"Do you just not want to say anything about it? You can always do hand motions."

"Yeah, I don't know how that way works either, but Lucinia said we would do it sooner or later. If anything, I just want to prove her wrong about that."

"Oh wait... she's talking about the forbidden method. Yeah, I'll agree with your idea of just adopting a kid."

"Forbidden method?"

"I'm not going to mention it. But going back to what we were talking about, seriously, what did you touch back in the cave?"

"I just said I don't know."

"Ok."

With Lucas and Tari getting bored, they decided to just do their normal thing while the two of them were sleeping, which was cuddling. Since it was getting late and they were both getting tired, they assumed their position.

"Goodnight Lucas," Tari said.

"Goodnight Tari," Lucas replied while holding her tight, just the way she liked it.

As Lucas was sleeping gently behind her, Tari stayed up with one question on her mind: What was this 'forbidden method' thing Lucas mentioned?

As time progressed, Tari also fell asleep.
