Vieto and Rip are two of the most notorious and successful thieves in all of the Cerrenthian Empire. They become unlikely heroes after they are sought out by a warrior monk from a long forgotten order. The two are tasked with finding the one known a...
The hooded man walked through the city searching for possible clues of Rip and Vieto's whereabouts. He asked beggars, prostitutes, and any other people who would typically have knowledge about the streets. He asked the local authority as well as the imperial authority for possible leads on the two. Eventually, he had found out about their dealings with Calverto. The stranger made his way to Calverto's bar in the outskirts of Vetrum. The stranger arrived at the bar and made his way to the bartender. The tender had slick back brown hair and a goatee.

Bartender: "No hoods."
Stranger: "My apologies."
The stranger removes his hood revealing the face of a Frezal. It was Ver-Kaal. The bartender looked at Ver-Kaal, almost shocked at his presence.
Bartender: "I haven't seen your kind around here before. What business do you have here?"
Ver-Kaal: "I need to speak to Calverto Dirreni."
Bartender: "You want to speak to my father? Who are you? Any business with him can go through me."
Ver-Kaal: "Tell him I am seeking out these men."
Ver-Kaal handed the bartender the wanted sign.
Bartender: "Oh... Them... I'll go let him know you're requesting him."
The bartender left Ver-Kaal standing at the bar. Ver-Kaal received suspicious stares from multiple patrons. He did not acknowledge them, but simply stood patiently waiting for the tenders return. A few moments later the tender returned.
Bartender: "He'll see you. Follow me."
The bartender escorted Ver-Kaal to the back room. They arrived at the same door Vieto passed through days ago. The same two Kranai men stood guard. Both of the guards followed Ver-Kaal into Calverto's office.
Calverto: "So, you must've come far looking for me... Well, I guess it isn't me you're looking for."
Calverto sat the wanted poster on his desk and slid it to Ver-Kaal.
Calverto: "I'm guessing you want to know where they are."
Ver-Kaal: "Yes, and I would be most grateful if you would tell me where that may be."
Calverto: "I'm sure you would. Maybe you can help me out. They got a big reward on their heads and I know that's what you're after. I don't care that these bastards screwed over all those poor fools and brought this bounty onto themselves.. But I do care that they robbed me! Nobody robs Calverto Dirreni!"
Ver-Kaal: "You will tell me where they are then?"
Calverto: "Hold on friend, I'm not finished. What I was saying was that they got a big reward on their head courtesy of the imperial court. Lucky for you I got a lot of money. Much more than the empire will pay. I'll double that reward if you bring them to me instead."
Ver-Kaal: "If I agree to this then you will tell me their whereabouts."
Calverto: "I'll tell ya their damn birthdays if you bring those thieving sons of bitches to me. I would've sent one of my boys but they're all too stupid to catch these guys. Those two will run rings around my men."
Ver-Kaal: "Ok, tell me where they are then."
Calverto: "They have a few hideouts but the most likely is some run down tavern called Madame Dormas. It's a day's journey South somewhere in or near a town called Felska. If they aren't there then the red-light district is a good second stop."
Ver-Kaal: "Thank you for the information. That's all I needed to know."
Calverto: "So how long will ya take? I'm itching to have the big one's head mounted on my wall."
Ver-Kaal: "Oh, my apologies. I am not actually seeking them out for any sort of bounty."
Calverto: "What?? So, you'll do it for free??"
Ver-Kaal: "Well, truthfully, I won't be doing anything but finding them. I only asked you where they were and you told me."
Calverto: "Hold on what?! No, you agreed to find them for me!!"

Ver-Kaal: "I agreed but I never shook your hand. Now if you will excuse me, I must go. But I thank you for this information."
Calverto: "You piece of... You're not going anywhere, ice back!!!"
One of the Kranai guards grabbed Ver-Kaal by the shoulder and drew a knife.
Ver-Kaal: "Very well."
Ver-Kaal grabbed the Kranai's hand, threw him down and disarmed him. The other Kranai rushed behind but was dispatched by Ver-Kaal using only one hand. Calverto pulled a dagger from under his desk. Ver-Kaal noticed this and quickly knocked out the guard that he had subdued first. Ver-Kaal jumped onto Calverto's desk stepping on the crime lord's arm, slamming it into the desk causing him to release the blade.
Calverto: "You.. You broke my arm!"
Ver-Kaal: "It could've been worse. Now I'm going to leave. Are you going to let me?"
Calverto held his arm while sobbing in pain. Ver-Kaal pushed more weight on Calverto's arm.
Calverto: "Ok! Ok! just please get off my damn arm!!"
Ver-Kaal removed his foot from Calvertos arm and kicked the blade to the opposite side of the room. He dropped down from the desk and exited the room, carefully stepping over the unconscious guards as he left. Calverto's son, the bartender, ran back to see the commotion only to be greeted by Ver-Kaal.
Ver-Kaal: "Don't worry, I only broke the loud one's arm. The other two are still well, just unconscious. I'll give you some herbs to—"
The tender had a worried expression. He cut off Ver-Kaal and ran past him. The tender looked into the open room to see Calverto still sobbing and holding his arm.
Tender: "Father!"
Calverto: "Jerren!"
The bartender, Jerren, ran into the room grabbing Caleverto.
Tender: "I'll help you father! Hold still."
Jerren examined Calverto's broken arm.
Tender: "Father, your arm! It's broken!"
Calverto, clenching in pain, looked at Jerren with an angered expression.
Calverto: "No shit, Jerren! Tell the others to stop that asshole!"
Jerren yelled for the other patrons, who were also henchmen of Calverto, to stop Ver-Kaal. Ver-Kaal heard him and readied himself, putting his hood back on. The henchmen rushed Ver-Kaal and a huge fight ensued. Ver-Kaal, still standing behind the bar, leaped over kicking a few of the henchmen down. He punched the others that came after him. Ver-Kaal, making sure not to kill any of the men, ends the fight. He quickly dealt with each of the henchmen in a similar manner to the guards prior. The commotion had seemed to stop. Jerren, assuming Ver-Kaal had been dealt with, rushed out of the back room only to see Ver-Kaal subduing the last henchman via a sleeper hold. The unconscious henchman dropped to the floor as Ver-Kaal released his hold causing a loud thud as he hit the ground. Ver-Kaal stepped over the unconscious bodies of the henchmen that scattered the ground. Ver-Kaal approached the bar. Jerren stood behind it, scared and shocked. Ver-Kaal dropped a few foreign coins and some elvish herbs in front of him.
Ver-Kaal: "I apologize for the damage I've caused. The coins should cover it. As I was saying, have these men and your father eat some of these herbs. Tell your father I said thank you for his assistance."
Ver-Kaal left while Jerren stood in shock as he looked at the chaotic scene of men lying unconscious all around him, likely thinking as to how one person could have managed to defeat seventeen men on his own. Outside, Ver-Kaal jumped onto his exotic mount and headed towards Madame Dorma's tavern.
