~Promise~

A/N: My idea for this chapter is very dumb 🤣 sorry.

Luz POV:

Riley had been smoking, again. Despite the amount of times she had promised to stop, the amount of times I had warned her, she still didn't care. Didn't care that it could kill her, didn't care that she was only 14. It didn't matter at that moment, they had a reservation at a fancy restaurant and needed to get there on time.

When we got to the restaurant we were taken to our tables and then provided with menus. Everything on them looked so fancy. I looked over to Amity, who was squinting at the menu.

Amity!

I had completely forgotten about her, Amity couldn't have human food! "Here, let me help." I said to her. Before reading out the things that were most similar to foods from the boiling isles. Eventually she picked one, and I didn't need to stress over it.

When our food finally arrived, I quickly began eating: I was starving. Amity was also wolfing down her meal, and clearly enjoying it.

"The food here is so good." she said, and the others all looked at her confused.

"She's foreign." I told them quickly, as I didn't want them to find out about the boiling isles. I was met with a range of murmurs of acknowledgement.

We finished our meals quickly, then ordered deserts. I ordered a strawberry sundae, and Amity got a chocolate one. Once we had finished our deserts we talked for a bit before I decided it was the right time to do what I had planned. I looked around the restaurant to check that no one I knew was there (Except my friends and Amity of course) and then pulled a small, black box out of my bag. Amity covered her eyes as I opened the black box to reveal a small, silver ring.

Amity uncovered her eyes and immediately looked at the ring. Tears began to well in her golden eyes and drip softly down her pale face.

I flushed a million different shades of red, "Umm... A-Amity."

Amity nodded, eyes still pricked with tears.

I tried to speak, but my voice seemed to catch in my throat.

"Amity, w-will you promise, ummm To.."

I took a deep breath of air.

"Will you promise to marry me when we're old enough." I said faster than Hooty.

A perfectly round tear rolled down the side of Amity's face as she nodded.

Amity grabbed the hem of my shirt and pulled me in for a kiss. At first it was no different to usual, then Amity bit down on my bottom lip, causing me to open my mouth slightly and let her tongue in. I let out a barely audible moan when her tongue touched mine.

Before I could get fully into the kiss, I remembered that we were in public and quickly pulled away, hoping that we weren't getting stared at by hundreds of pairs of eyes. Luckily, we weren't; it was only the annoyed glares of my friends.

"Oh, yeah." I said, trying not to make it too obvious that I had forgotten that they were even there.

"So, I guess you two want a little.. Alone time now. We'll be off." said Riley.

"Okay." I said.

Once we had paid the bill for the restaurant we headed back home. I was overjoyed at how the day had gone: Amity's wound hadn't caused any issues, and she had said yes.

Amity Pov:

Me and Luz were cuddled up under one of her many Azura blankets watching a movie. Everything seemed to be going well, my wound hadn't been a problem all day and Luz had proposed in a way. Of course, all of this was too good to be true.

We were just getting to the best part of the fifth Azura movie when I felt a sudden pain in my stomach region. The pain felt as if a red-hot poker was searing painfully into my skin, causing me too bleed, causing me pain, making my head spin dizzily.

I sat up in my seat to make sure the wound wasn't fatally bad. Unsurprisingly, the white bandages that Luz had lovingly wrapped around my abdomen had now become a deep shade of crimson red. I touched them lightly, to check that the bandages were still intact. They were, but when I looked back at my fingers they were the same colour of crimson.

"Umm.. Luz." I said, holding up my bloody digits.

"Oh, mierda." she replied, jumping from her seat.

A/N: I'm so sorry that this chapter was so much shorter than usual, I just really wanted to get something out for you guys. And for those of you who are here for the romance, I'm trying to put more in, but I'm not the best at writing it. I'm trying to improve though!
