The girls were taking a working lunch break as they sat on the half wall and bench under it. The SATs were Saturday and they were spending every second they could to study for it. But, right now, they were grading the practice tests they all took.
"For Eric in the English portion he got a 620. For math he got a 415. So, a combined score of 1,035." Genevieve tells them as Rosalie wrote it down in the chart they made to keep track of everyone's progress.
Jason and Eric saw it as a score sheet and we're competing to see who would get the best scores.
"Jason for the English portion got a 600. But, for math he got a 515. A combined score of 1,115." Vanessa tells the girl as she wrote it down.
"The math portion is going to kill Eric." Rose says with a sigh as she looked at the chart.
"Who's got the highest score so far in math?" Genevieve asks her.
"Vanessa with her amazing 750." Rose says as the beautiful girl gracefully brushed her hair back.
"Thank you." She says with a smile. "And I'll help Eric study for the math portion. You just keep up the work with his English." Vanessa tells her and she nods.
"Rosie Harris, is that you?" The girl hears making her look behind her.
"Mr. Hunter, hi." She says a bit awkwardly as she stood up. "What are you doing here?" She asks as he walks over to her.
"I came by for Shawnie's career day. But, now I got to talk to him about something. Do you happen to know where that boy is?" He asks as he put his hands on his hips.
"He should be in the cafeteria eating lunch. Is everything okay?" She asks suspicious of the man's need to tell his son whatever it is during school.
"Do you remember how he would sit with you after your mother left? You guys would just sit for hours at the park and not say a word." He asks her and she nods.
"Yeah. Yeah, I remember." She tells him as she held her books to her chest. "What's going on?"
"Virna left with the house." He tells her quickly in a whispered like tone and she nods not fully taking it in. "I got to go tell Shawn. See you around, Rosie." He tells her hitting her shoulder and walking away.
"What did he say?" Genevieve asks as Rose sat back down.
"Something about Mrs. Hunter leaving with the house, I think." She says a bit confused before it hit her. "Oh, crap!" She says before tossing her notebook onto the bench and running after the man.
"I'm parked in his spot, ain't I?" Mr. Hunter says as the girl got into the cafeteria.
"Mr. Feeny, I can explain." Shawn says as the girl walks up.
"Please do."
"Go ahead."
"Uh, you're Feeny, too?" Mr. Hunter says to Mr. Feeny.
"I'm Feeny one." Mr. Feeny says annoyed by the man.
"Mr. Feeny, this is my dad." Shawn tells him as Rose stood by the boy.
"Oh, Yes, well, uh, we're very proud of Shawn." Mr. Feeny tells the boys father.
"I'm surprised to hear you say that." Mr. Hunter tells the older man.
"So am I." Mr. Feeny says making Rose smirk as she looks at the older man before he walks away.
"Hey, Shawnie, Shawn's friend." Mr. Hunter greets his son and best friend.
"So, Dad, what's going on?" Shawn says his father as he glanced at Rose before looking back at his father.
"Uh, look buddy, Did you kiss your mom this morning?" He asks his son.
