The day at the medical station was very long. There was a lot to do but no major injuries.
John told me there was a movie night in the TV room tonight and asked me if I would like to come too.
I thought it was good that the guys took their time for things like that, to get away from it all and take their mind off things. I agreed to join.

So I went straight to the shower after work.
Actually, I was tired and just wanted to go to bed. But I also realized that I could use a distraction. So I put on something comfortable and made my way to John's room to pick him up.
Then we went together to the TV room. John had gotten some snacks from town and also some alcohol for everyone.

When we got to the TV room, everyone else was already there, arguing about which movie would be watched first.

After finally deciding on a film, we packed all the snacks and alcoholic beverages on the table so that everyone could help themselves.
As always, I sat next to John. Ghost sits next to Soap, quite a distance from me.
Somehow I had wished that he would sit near me again.
To my astonishment, the boys drank a lot of alcohol while the film was running. But I was sure that they knew their limits.
I noticed that John in particular drank quite a lot of alcohol. Halfway through the film you could already hear that he had been drinking as soon as he started talking.
He also seemed to have gotten quite brave, as he tried to put his arm around me twice, which I fought off each time. The third time I tried to whisper to him in a low voice that he shouldn't try again and that I didn't want to. Luckily he didn't try a fourth time.

I had to use the bathroom during the film and got up to make my way to the bathroom. John jumped up and said he was coming because he also had to use the bathroom. I didn't want to talk to him much in his condition and was glad that the women's bathroom was a bit further away from the men's. On the way back to the TV room, John stumbled towards me and we arrived at the door to the TV room at the same time. I was about to enter when his arm blocked my way.

"Let me through" I told him.
"No." he answered me bluntly.
Before I could say anything, he leaned in and tried to kiss me. I was so shocked that I slapped him and cried out. The others must have heard it, I heard voices from the room. The door opened and Ghost came out.

"What's going on here?" he asked both of us. Still shocked by John's attempt to kiss me, I told Ghost what was going on.
"Its none of your business," John said to Ghost. Ghost then took a step closer to John and towered over him.
"Considering she just audibly slapped you in the face, that means she doesn't want it. It may be none of my business, but I'll still stop you from kissing her again. And now piss off John. "
John was too drunk to reply and went back into the TV room. I was still perplexed.

"Are you okay?" Ghost asked me.
"I don't know, I'm confused."
"Do you want to go back inside?"
"No, I think the movie tonight is over for me and I'm going to my room."
"I'll take you to your room."
"No, you don't have to."
"I didn't ask you, did i?"

Why did he want to accompany me to my room? and why is he even getting involved? I was glad that someone intervened at all, but why him of all people? He didn't seem to be interested in me the whole time.
I agreed that he would escort me to my room because he wouldn't listen to me anyway.
We walked down the hall without a word until we got to my room.
I turned to thank him but before I could say anything he asked "are you sure you're okay? do you want me to lecture him again?"
"No! He's drunk and probably won't remember anything tomorrow anyway."
"That's no reason that he could just get away with something like that y/n."
"I'll be fine. Thanks for taking me to my room."
I had tears in my eyes when I spoke to him because I just didn't understand why John was suddenly acting like this.
As a tear rolled down my cheek, he raised his hand and brushed it away with a finger.
I looked at him in surprise.
He quickly withdrew his hand, wished me good night and left before I could say anything else.
