Chapter 9

"HOT DAMN! When was Pyrrha this good at fighting!" Denji shouted out, "I'm quite surprised as well." Reze said to Denji. "The reason why she's so good is because she's won the tournament 4 times which isn't something to scoff at." Weiss said looking at them, "Oh, the tournament where every school fights each other to get famous, right?" Denji said soon after, "Meaning that she's a formidable opponent." Aki said while focusing on the fight. "I, Power, am a even tougher opponent!" Power said lying every second of her life. "I mean, that is really cool though. Winning against some of the toughest people out there." Reze said entertained by the fighting.

"Well done Miss Nikos." Glynda said to Pyrrha with a small smile, "Thank you, Professor Goodwitch." Pyrrha said walking off the arena, "Though the fight was long and well fought, we do still have time for one more!" Glynda shouted so everybody could hear, "So, who is volunteering to fight?!" Glynda asked only for nobody to answer, "How about you Miss Belladona!" Glynda said looking at Blake who gave a nervous expression. "I'll go Professor!" A man shouted rising his hand up. He had silver hair with mostly silver colored clothes, and black boots. "Mercury, correct?" Glynda asked, "Yup." Mercury gave a short response.

"Well, let me just choose who will be your opponent." Glynda then proceeded to use her scroll to choose who will fight him, "Actually, I wanna fight him." Mercury said pointing at Denji, "Me! Why me!" Denji asked with a surprised face. "Because why not." Mercury said with a smirk on his face, "That's probably the worst reason to give." A green haired girl said to Mercury. "Shut up Emerald." Mercury said with a annoyed face, "This could be interesting fight since we haven't seen you fight against a person before." Glynda said looking at Denji. So, Denji was practically presurred by his peers to fight, "Fine, I'll fight!" Denji said to Mercury and Professor Glynda, "Then it's settled, the match of Denji and Mercury will commence in 5 minutes, so I suggest that the both of you to get ready." Glynda said looking at the two.

"Hey, Denji let me talk to you real quick." Aki asked the boy, "Yeah what's up?" Denji said with a questioning look, "You'll need to be careful with those chainsaws." Aki said with a serious look, "Huh, why?" Denji confused to why he asked. "Because those things can cut through most things with ease, which means you could kill the guy if you aren't careful." Aki answered, "Damn your right, but how am I gonna fight without them?" Denji asked, "I just said to be careful with them, and he does have aura that should protect him. But don't go crazy on him or you will get him killed, got it." Aki said with a demanding voice. "Got it, all wise one." Denji said walking away to the arena, "Go Denji I believe in you. If you win I'll let you go with me on the dance." Reze said with a smile, "I'LL FUCKING WIN THIS THING!!" Denji yelled running off, "Did you really have to tell him that?" Aki asked, "It is to ensure our victory Aki!" Power said while Aki would roll his eyes.

1 minute later

Both Denji and Mercury were in different sides of the arena giving each other stares. One full of determination while the other was full of focus. "Are the two of you ready to fight?" Glynda asked the two, "Yes!" The both of them yelled still staring each other down, "Very well, let the battle commence!" Glynda shouted out to the two.

Mercury would already arrive where Denji was, who was trying to pull the cord on his chest. Only for him to be kicked in the face before he could, Denji would start having to dodge each kick having no time to rev the engine. "That Mercury fella sure ain't letting him pull the cord." Yang said with a small worried expression, "Yeah let's hope Denji has a plan to stop Mercury." Ruby said with a extremely worried face. "Indeed." Weiss said focusing on the fight. Blake would doze off and try to sleep on her desk.

Mercury would go for another kick to the face only for Denji to grab his leg and throw him across the arena. "WHAT THE FUCK ARE THOSE LEGS MADE OF!" Denji yelled out finally pulling the cord with frustration becoming the infamous CHAINSAW MAN!

"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING!!" Mercury would with a scared face, "THE THING THAT'S GONNA BEAT YO ASS! HAHAHA!" The monster would yell out with a laugh, while also blitzing towards Mercury. Mercury would start dodging each of the saws that Denji would swing wildly with no restraint. After awhile of this process Mercury would finally see the chance to kick Denji with so much force where he was thrown into the sky. Only for Denji to unchain the chains from his saws to grapple on Mercury's leg and throw himself back towards Mercury. "HAHAHAAH! GOT YOU NOW, MOTHERFUCKER!" Denji would yelled out before striking Mercury with the chainsaw on his head, which put Mercury's aura down to yellow. "WHAT THE! YELLOW ALREADY!" Mercury yelled out, surprised by the shear power of the chainsaws.

Mercury would then push Denji back with a drop kick, "SINCE YA LIKE KICKING SO DAMN MUCH, I'LL USE MY LEGS TOO!!" Denji would yell, running at Mercury then going for a kick which Mercury would block by using both forearms. But then, Denji created a chainsaw in his leg after Mercury block the kick, which cut through the rest of Mercury's aura. "STOP THE MATCH! IT IS OVER!" Glynda would yell out.

After hearing this Denji would retract his saws and turn back to normal. "LETTTTTT'SSS GOOOOOOOO!!!" Denji would cry out, getting to go on the dance with Reze. "W-well, p-played." Mercury said trying to regain his breathe from the fight. "I really got to owe it to ya! I got to go on the dance with a pretty girl, man!" Denji would put his hand out for a handshake. Mercury would look up to Denji's hand and would get up to shake it. "I would say you won twice." Mercury said while shaking Denji.

"The two may go back to your teams, and good job to the both of you." Glynda would say to the both, "Thanks Professor Glynda." Mercury would say, "Yeah, thanks teach!" Denji said with a giddy smile. The both walked away from the arena going back to their teams, and leaving class after the fight.

"Nice job, Denji." Aki would say with a smile, "Of course, my minions will always win against my enemies!" Power said with a large smile of sharp teeth. "Well, as promised you can go out on the dance with me." Reze would smile with a small blush, "When's the dance!" Denji would say with a face of excitement, "In a few weeks, Denji." Reze said. "Let's go! I get to go on a date with Reze!" Denji said still giddy, "WHATTTTT!!!" Ruby and Weiss would yell out after hearing Denji. Blake would've also said something, but she was too tired to say anything about it. "Woah Denji, didn't expect anything like this from you." Yang would say with a smirk, but would then remeber Ruby had a thing for Denji. "So, how long was this." Yang would ask, "Oh, this was just a bet that I made where if Denji won, he would get to go with me on the day of the dance." Reze would say with a smile.

"Oh, I still got a chance. But I wanted to go on the dance with him." Weiss and Ruby would say to themselves with expressions if relief. "C'mon guys, we should get to our next class." Aki said, "Stupid learning! I, Power, does not need to learn anything other then the arts of combat!" Power would whine from the classes they had next.
"Also Denji, didn't I tell you to be careful with those saws!" Aki yelled out, "WHAT! That was probably the most calmest fight I ever had!" Denji would say to Aki.

Mercury and Emerald

"Why, didn't you just forefit?" Emerald asked Mercury, "The guy didn't give me a chance after he turned into that thing. Honestly it's scary, no wander Roman asked to test him instead of Pyrrha." Mercury would say, "Yeah, he did seem tough when he turned into the thing, but he needs to pull the cord first. So there's that weakness." Emerald said, "Yeah, I guess so. C'mon we don't wanna be late to our class do we." Mercury said to Emerald.
