Chapter 3,

So Stupid,

"This is so stupid." I grumbled, closing my bedroom door and walking to my closet. I grabbed a pair of grey sweats and a black sweatshirt that was a size too big. I pulled on the sweats over my shorts and the sweatshirt over my band t-shirt.

I moved to my dresser and grabbed a pair of mis-matched socks. I hate matching socks, they made me feel organized. I slipped them on my feet and slipped on some brown Uggs. I glanced at the body mirror on my closet door and shrugged.

My long jet black hair was up in a messy bun on my head, one pant leg tucked into a boot, and my black nerdy glasses on the bridge of my nose. I was a mess, then again I was in bed up until two minutes ago.

I glared at my reflection, flicking my hood up. I grabbed my phone, my wallet, and my headphones and stuffed them in my pouch pocket. I opened my door and grabbed my backpack, that sat next to the door. I flicked off the light switch.

I slowly descended the stairs and peeked into the living room. My father was sitting on the couch, drinking a beer. Not a thing changed; same shirt, same show, same brand of beer. Ever since mom died.

Lois, my step mother, came out of the kitchen with her hips swinging seductively and a bowl of strawberries in one hand and a can of whipped cream in the other. Oh god. She caught fath- I mean, Dwight's attention quick and he smiled, setting down his beer on the coffee table.

I crept slowly around the banister, facing them and stepped backwards with my hand dragging the wall. I noticed they didn't see me when Dwight's hand went up Lois' shirt. I quickly turned around and left through the back door. I closed the door before realizing my mistake.
