"No, Gremlin. You have to be patient just like your mom and brother," Lisa spoke in a low, soothing voice to the impatient black streaked with orange cat.
"She's never going to listen to you. You've been doing it for the last two weeks, and she's still batshit crazy," Jennie commented as she stepped into the living room.
She was dressed for work, in a burnt orange shirt Lisa had convinced her to buy from a shop in downtown Sacheon – as much downtown as Sacheon had, anyway. Which, honestly, Lisa was super pleasantly surprised at.
She'd taken a look around when she'd first arrived back, but she hadn't actually looked around. But she'd convinced Jennie to go with her into a handful of shops when she'd decided that she'd needed a bit of an update to her wardrobe.
She'd hung all of her clothing up in her bedroom closet when she'd returned from her initial three nights at Jennie's, because... well, it was getting to be too much, too packed away in her suitcase. It felt nice to have a space to really let things settle and breathe for a change.
And when she'd gone through her outfits with Ella later that night, her niece had aptly pointed out, "You need some new stuff, Auntie."
When Jennie had looked at the summation of Lisa's possessions, she'd seemed incredulous. "This is it? This is what you survive on, day after day? Year after year?"
Lisa laughed, feeling uncharacteristically sheepish. "Well, I can't exactly travel heavy. If it's functional and cute, then it's perfect. And then I'll cycle through it after a year or two."
Jennie had still looked incredulous. And Lisa, now that she'd spent a solid fifteen days waking up in Jennie's bed and finally being granted the ability to look through her second floor, knew that Jennie had a surprising affinity for clothing. Her closet was full to bursting, and, of course, meticulously organized.
She'd swooped down to press a lingering kiss to Jennie's cheek, and then another at the corner of her lips. And everything in her had melted when Jennie softened against her and had turned just the slightest bit closer to get more contact. "Much like the opposite of Madonna, I'm not really a material girl," she'd murmured against Jennie's mouth.
And then they'd spent last weekend shopping and Lisa had indulged in purchasing more new clothing in one fell swoop than she had in decades. It was far more fun than she'd expected... then again, she was a firm believer that she could make fun wherever she was; it was a matter of mindset.
It was especially fun when she'd been able to cajole Jennie into trying on some clothing for her. Especially when she'd gotten her to purchase the shirt she was in right now, by convincing her in the dressing room that it worked wonders for her.
It certainly worked for Lisa – the fitted cut of the shirt along Jennie's chest, the way it hugged her arms.
She'd mapped those arms with her fingers, now, and her mouth, too.
Multiple times.
And she stared at it now, as Jennie carefully slid on a tailored blazer and carefully straightened the cuffs and collar. Watching Jennie methodically dress herself most mornings in the last couple of weeks had really done wonders for Lisa.
"See something you like?" Jennie asked, voice sardonic as hell, as she met Lisa's eyes from the hallway mirror.
Lisa grinned shamelessly from her perch on the floor. She was still dressed in Jennie's short cotton shorts and worn sweatshirt – one of several pairs of clothing she'd commandeered since they'd started sleeping together consistently.
