Deliz is trading at a trading post in Tir Chronail. Rummaging goods to sell to the Fomorian Goblin Trade Helper.
"8000 DUCATS?! I spent 2 hours to get here from Bangor and you are only giving me 8000 Ducats and 8000 gold?" screeched Deliz.
"That's a lot for a single trade already, if you bargain with me any longer, I will have to call the guards." said Nico the Trade Helper.
"That's so unfair..."
You see, in Erinn, everyone has to make a living, and goods don't just get transported everywhere by magic. I would have assume this world have a efficient trading system that rivals my own world. But instead, it is way more primitive, all the items you saw in grocery, shops and the market are all transported by wagons, cargo, caravan, war elephants, skiff, ships. I thought they might use teleportation circles and moon gates to transfer all the goods, but it seems like the capacity for teleportation is limited to a single object, and the cost for usage are quite high. Moon gates are especially handy when you discover them, because they allow you to travel every part of Erinn, like a teleportation device.
By the way, to describe how Deliz look like, he wore light armor and metal greaves.
"Buy low, sell high! This is the number one principle of trading. You purchase trade goods and sell them to other towns." uttered another Goblin Trader. There are many different Goblin Traders I've seen, but they all uttered the same speech.
You might be thinking, aren't I suppose to be training to be the world's finest Warrior or a Royal guard? Well the thing is, those cost money. Just like my previous world. The ones that doesn't manage their finance are doom to fail, hence, this is my current situation. I do not even have my own place to live or food to eat. After finishing lessons with Tin the midget and that Human Combat instructor, Ranald, I gained the skills to become a swordsman, which is essentially a Fledging warrior. But no one told me, that I have to earn money just to substain myself. There's also a guy named Trefor who called himself Captain of the Guards, but he's the only guard guarding Tir Chronail. So I guess, he's just a guard. He's the captain, but there's no guard under him, get it? He's just a guard. The three of them taught me skills that are essential for close-combat. They were:
Windmill - Spun yourself into a windmill. To hit multiple targets when surrounded.
Counterattack - turn your opponent's strength against them.
Defense - a way to protect your body.
Smash - A mighty blow that send weak foes flying. Dangerous when countered by Counterattack or intercept by normal attack.
They might seem easy at first, but they are really hard to use when your enemies knows what you're going to do. I heard from Ranald that stronger enemies will be able to see your next move more clearly. But wasn't sure he was telling the truth. Clairevoyance is just a myth.
"Well, after subtracting the rent, equipment repair cost, food, water, all I am left with is... 300 Gold."
"Alright, Expired02, tonight our dinner is one slice of cooked meat!"
"Neigh" said my pet mount, Expired02, a horse.
Tired and defeated. I went back to the barren wasteland that I call home to get some shut-eye. I rested near an Ore farming spot, resembling a small mound that you see everywhere on countryside. Lacking any communicating partner, I decide to talk to my horse.
"You know, when I first came to Erinn, I thought I will be a annointed knight or an incredible swordsman surrounded by beauties and girls. But it turned out to be much like the previous life I lived in my previous world." said Deliz in low tone.
"Neigh" said Expired02.
"I would love to date a girl for once in my life. Given that in my previous life, I was too shy to even talk to any of them. Not that I remember much from my previous life, but there's no way I can invite them for a hangover given the state of my house looks like an empty wasteland. There's no chair or tables to serve tea either."
"Neigh", nodded Expired02.
"I know you don't understand anything and I am just wasting my time... I should have just rented a Inn to stay instead. I would much rather sleep on a warm bed than a cold hard ground."
"Neigh", nodded Expired02.
Well. Time to return this plot of land that I bought and give up on securing a house. I wish the goddess could hear my plea for help.
